I was sad to see it go but I thought it was a fitting end to one of the best tv shows ever. Most series finales ( Seinfeld, Sopranos) leave a bad taste in the mouths of fans but this finale was very well done and very typical of the quality of the entire series. What did everyone think? Anyone that hasn't seen it or is waiting for the season to come on NBC might want to stop reading now.

Anyone have favorite episodes or moments from the series? One that comes to my mind is seeing Matt Saracen take the shovel from the grave digger and proceed to shovel dirt into his father's grave. Powerful.

One of my favorite shows ever and I truly think one of the best dramas ever. It will be sorely missed at my house.

It's a really, really great show. It's disappointing that more people didn't watch because it deserved a few more seasons.

Last season I found myself watching and hoping that there was a lot more time left on each episode.

I really enjoyed this show. I thought they did a very good job with the finale.

We had been watching this season on NBC, but then I plugged in my old DVR and found the last 5 episodes on it.

WOW, that was a great finale. One of the best shows in TV history. I was really happy how it turned out. I had been afraid to watch the final one for a few days because I thought it would be another lost or sopranos where it just made you mad. Not this one. I will admit I will miss this show more than any other I have ever seen.

Re: Friday Night Lights series finale

By far, my favorite tv drama. As somebody else said, it should have had a few more years, but better to go away while it was still good than to try to drag it out like Aerosmith!!

Directv had the complete season on Channel 101 before it was shown on NBC.

Didn't read any of the above since I am still watching the last episodes on NBC since I have DISH. I have always felt NBC never did this show justice by sticking it on DirecTV first then putting it on Friday night when it was harder to get ratings. Outside of 30 Rock and The Office it's probably their next best weeknight show that they could have put at an 8pm or 9pm time slot in the middle of the week somewhere and done very well with. I know of people that didn't even know it existed until last season and 1 of them even stopped watching the season, went and bought the first 3 on DVD and caught up to it and couldn't believe just how good of a show it was. It's too bad this is the final season of it. So far I think it's been the best of the 5 seasons and there are still a lot of good story lines they could have continued with.

A lot of the actors have moved on to some prominent roles in movies and TV shows too which shows just how good of a cast they had. Kyle Chandler (coach Taylor) is in Super 8, Zach Gilford (Matt) is now on the show Off the Map, Minka Kelly (Lyla) and Michael B Jordan (Vince) have booth been on Parenthood, Aimee Teegarden (Julie) has been popping up on various shows and movies, Scott Porter (Jason Street) has been on The Good Wife and I have a feeling we are going to see several more of the cast eventually wind up in some other shows and movies in the future.

Sad to see the show coming to an end, can't wait to see how it ends up because it's kept me wanting more after every episode as good as it has been this year.

Taylor Kitsch (Riggins) was Gambit in Origins. Tyra was in Legion and has been in some other things as well. They had a great cast but they never really gave it a chance.

NBC wanted to cancel this show two years ago and the owner or president of Direct TV paid for the additional airing with the requirement that DTV gets to run the shows first. Then NBC followed.

I would like to hear from someone that didn't like the show. This was a great show and I'll by the box set when it comes out.

I saw a couple days ago Peter Berg said he would like to do a movie showing how Coach Taylor and Tami have adjusted to wrap it all up. I hated to watch the final episode knowing it was over for good, but it was a great sendoff.

Full hearts and clear minds gentlemen...
