For any other old people, my favorite was The Library. Found out from my son it is now Welch Ave Station, which is now his favorite.

Anyone ever venture in the Tip Top?

Every pretailgate at 6AM my senior year. Still try to get back there once a season.

Welch Ave Station hands down. Used to like the old Cy's when they had $1 burgers on Wednesdays before they got shutdown then they totally ruined it for me with the remodel and now it feels more like a meat market bar than the casual more retro place like Welch Ave Station that it used to be. Used to get a burger, fries, and beer before heading to a night class I had 1 semester, used to be a line at 4pm on the sidewalk for it.

I was there opening night of Mickeys so it probably is my 2nd favorite. They were giving away shirts to the first 100 through the door, my friend and I showed up at 6:15 for a 7pm opening thinking there would already be a line and we were the 1st ones in line. The photographer at the door invited us in to the private party going on, free drinks till opening at 7 as long as you tipped the bartender well so we made sure we took full advantage while we could.

I get to the Tip Top about twice a year. I am mostly sad about the Fox 1 Lounge closing. I met my wife there.

Lumpy's....

We were at Lumpy's one night (for 25 cent draws), and we see this guy go up to order some drinks. While standing at the bar, he covertly pulls out his junk and takes a leak on the floor. That place was dirty, smelly, and disgusting...I miss it so.

Thumbs was about as far from 'gay bar' as you could get. It was a nice little hole in the wall that was conveniently on my way home from class.

I'll probably catch some flack for this, but I enjoyed Element in its prime. A bar with dancing, beer pong on the patio AND $5 fish bowls of whatever you wanted? Sign me up, & twice on Thursdays.
