I seem to remember Stinson getting some steals, but also getting burnt alot going for steals. I think you'd struggle to consider him a consistently good defender.
I somehow glossed over Grayer, he did get tough defensive assignments covering multiple positions. My list maybe could remove Harris in favor of Grayer, for similar reasons — Harris also was assigned to guys way out of his size range. He was 6-3 and sometimes guarded 6-11 guys. Grayer may get the nod for overall defense. (Maybe both should be on the list, but I also omitted plenty of others, Bankhead/Pratt, Babb, Nurse and others).
