Who is your Econ 101 professor? Also very nice schedule... go to an sci 114 i mean actually go and attend class because the extra bonus showing up points makes for a smooth ride come semester test time. Econ 101L was a joke for me professor couldn't speak a lick of english and still pulled out an easy very easy A actually will be completely honest with you had two of my "buddies" in that class freshman year also got A's they later failed out of college. Math 160 is can be really easy or just easy depending on the professor. I had some old lady that was horrible at teaching math but luckily that is one subject I don't suck at :twitcy:
Dr Hayes is my Econ 101 professor, my 101L is with Dr Lence. Math 160 is the one class that I'm worried about because I suck at math so we'll see. My professor's name is Dr. Wang so I'm hoping that's not the same you were talking about.

Is Math 160 required for your major or do you just need to take a math class? I took Math 150 my first semester and it was probably my easiest class that semester. So no idea what 160 is like but if you are worried about math 150 may be a good option.

A few thoughts that come to mind:

-- Pick the professor, not the class. Ratemyprofessor.com is a great tool for achieving good grades. The wrong professor can make a class on Iowa State Basketball History miserable, and the right professor can make a 400 biology class an easy A or B. I graduated with a very good GPA, and a lot of it was due to one professor who I took maybe 8 or 9 classes with and was guaranteed a minimum of a B+, and that was with next to no effort.

-- I got a long ways treating partying as a reward. If I knew I wanted to start drinking by 7:00 on Friday, I made sure there was a list of things I had to get done before 7:00 on Friday. At least for me, partying was more fun knowing I had that paper or outline done, and it kept me on track when doing it as I had a "light at the end of the tunnel" so to speak.

-- This has been mentioned before, but there is a lot to be said for just acting the part. When you're walking around or when you go somewhere, if nothing else act like you know what you're doing. Confidence goes a long way.

Dr Hayes...Great guy he made me tolerate Econ. Still talk to him weekly 7 years later. For his class I would suggest getting closer to the front. It amazed me after about 4 semesters I touched based with him again and he pinpointed exactly where I sat in the classroom to dang near the seat and I think I had only answered once question the whole semester and that was where everyone had to stand up and say where they were from, guy has a mind like no other.

Oh, and to the OP, I'd get in a habit of introducing yourself as the Ginger Ninja.

Looks easy minus the Spanish part. Though the overall schedule sucks IMO because you're gonna be on campus all the time.
I actually enjoy Spanish so I think I'll be fine, also the schedule might give me an incentive to stay at the library or wherever and actually do something

yeah overall it looks good, like 2015 said, you've got a couple long breaks in there - for your Tuesday you could probably go back to your room depending on where you are from Gilman. But it's great built-in study time for all the Spanish homework!

I took 230 with Phillips as well, nice guy, good class. If he still gives extra credit for going and being a psych study lab rat volunteer, those extra hours there are a great time to fit a couple of those in.

A few things I wish I had known going into college:

1) Buy books on Amazon used, then sell them back on Amazon used. 9/10 you will get the same price you paid for.
2) Find a group of friends that takes their week days seriously but enjoy their weekends. If their weekdays look like weekends, avoid.
3) Keep your door open at all times. If you have Mario Kart, play it loud enough people can hear. They will come.
4) Never, ever worry about girls. If you focus on yourself, your school work, your fitness/nutrition, your mental well-being they will take note and come to you (doesn't mean be a ****** bag and tell every girl off, just don't worry about pursuing anyone until you know with 100% certainty they are worth it)
5) Work with your advisor to really come up with a good four year plan. When you take the class is important, and there are ways to set up your schedule to take all the same courses in a much easier order.
6) Don't feel bad if you don't know what you want to do with your life.
7) If you want to study abroad, figure out all the requirements and information NOW or it could be really hard to make it happen.
8) Treat school like on-the-job training. You are paying for it, make it worth it.

Going into my freshman year.. How does this look?

From experience, those walks across campus for 8AMs can be a real ***** when winter starts rolling in.

For your Spring semester I would try to avoid those. There is nothing fun about walking in -10 weather, with -30 windchill that early in the morning

I've read her ratemyproffesor dealio and it said that she was an easy teacher and the class itself was quite easy. Also saw out textbook was 250 bucks.. Yikes

go find the textbook on Amazon or half.com.

I always waited on getting textbooks till I found out if we'd actually use them.
