Pho, taste like dirty sock soup.

I’m convinced most Pho places (even in Vietnamese neighborhoods) don’t know what the hell they are doing or serve that watery mess because they think that’s the preferred American flavor palate.

I found an incredible place in LA but then moved an hour drive away. I learned to replicate it myself over about seven tries and ordering the identical noodles online. Absolutely destroys every restaurant I’ve had except the one I copied.

Italian parsley cooked into things can be key.

I make chicken soup a lot and cooking in Italian parsley at the end adds a lot of flavor and lightens it. Agree the little sprig or sprinkle in a plate is typically “wtf is this?”.
Wife makes a pretty amazing homemade chicken soup and does the same. I have a great chimichurri recipe with Italian parsley and cilantro.

Pot roast in a crock pot with carrots, potatoes, etc. Never liked it. Why spend all day cooking something that is no good upon completion?

And I get this is an “Iowa” board and everyone prob grew up with this.

I've never had bad Pho. Sick as a dog in the early covid days and ordered from a Thai place down the street from me in KC 3 or 4 days in a row just for Pho and Tom Yum

I think a lot of people eat pizza cold because they think the other choice is microwave which is even more horrific.

Put it in the oven or even on a pan!
Reheat it in an air fryer- that’s the closest you can get it to back to fresh. It usually won’t destroy the crust like an oven will.

Since this is a hot takes thread I’ll throw another one out there- Casey’s pizza is absolute dog ****. Quite possibly the worst pizza around.

Worst foods I've eaten... has to be brick cheese with chicken foot soup right up there. Probably wouldn't seek out century eggs again in the future; the taste wasn't horrible (think salty soft boiled egg), just the sickly green yoke color.

Mozzarella sticks but hear me out. If someone walked up to you and asked if you wanted 8 cheese sticks, you’d say no but if you dip them in Italian bread crumbs and fry them then you say YES!

Care to share the recipe? I’ve been on a pho kick lately and while I haven’t found bad pho, it definitely can be inconsistent and very different depending on the place.

Well yeah but most people share them.
