I agree the defensive strategy against ISU is pretty clear. Pack it in with some zone mixed in and make them shoot over you. It certainly beats the alternatives of pressuring on the perimeter, trapping, or trying to speed ISU up.
But I really liked the assertiveness I saw against OU. It may get stopped sometimes or lead to a few TOs but you've got to continue to try to force it towards the basket and finish strong when given the opportunity. Can't settle by catching the ball flat-footed, take a couple dribbles, and put up a contested jumper. Even with the struggles, I think the offense has turned a corner the last couple games in attitude.
THT and Shayok passed up some good looks from 3 right on the catch only to take some dribbles then shoot a three with a guy in their face. Maybe both were really looking to get in the lane, which considering THT's success it's understandable. It also seemed like Shayok was trying to force the action and draw some fouls to manufacture some points on FTs. Again, makes a lot of sense considering he was struggling from the field at the time.
If ISU comes out and has a poor shooting game vs. TCU I might start to be a little worried. At this point I'm feeling pretty good about the offense.
