I read and played outside most of the time when I was little. I didn't have a ton of "girly" toys, but I did love this for some reason:

I had this (well a "slightly" older version) when I was little and loved it! I was also a huge Barbie and Lincoln Logs fan.

I played a lot with toy tractors. I also liked my lincoln logs and tinker toys. To the detriment of our wild bird population, I also enjoyed my bb gun.

My brother and I created a game called Bubberand Pig. It consisted of one person being the pig who would carry around a broom stick and shoot rubber-bands with it while everyone else would hide in the stand of evergreen trees behind our house. If you hit someone with the rubber-band, they were out.

I can't believe Transformers haven't been mentioned yet. Those things were pretty awesome.

Favorite Transformer: Devastator.

Do they make Lincoln Logs still?? I really want to get some for my daughter, and haven't found any! I loved those!

(Girl here) I would have to say Cabbage Patch Dolls. I was in 4th grade the year they were the "it" toy. Little did we know, but my parents had people looking for them for my younger sister and I for Christmas. We each had 2 or 3, including one we recused from the side of the road--he looks like a Frankenbaby because my Mom had to sew his head on. There were homemade-knockoff's and my Dad won/bought one at a Cyclone wrestling event. The doll came with a custom made ISU singlet, wrestling shoes and a ISU robe. We had homemade ISU cheerleading outfits and sweatsuits for our other CPK dolls.

My own girls now play with them when we go to Grandma and Grandpa's house.
