And then occasionally Hy Vee puts up GIANT signs on the side of the store about meat sales and passive aggressive digs at Fareway, lolAnd it’s right in front of the west Hy-Vee, which is top-level trolling.

Yeah and it is awesome IMHOLooks like they moved in to where Wallabys used to be.
The biggest issue was there was essentially no plan for maintaining the building, and people were afraid the income would be insufficient to pay the debt. The same thing happened to the YMCA: people paid according to a sliding scale, and income declined.Yeah, this is incredible that there’s a population of Boone cheering for the defeat of this referendum. The toxic attitudes of small town America will continue to doom them into oblivion.

Yep they bought out this one that had been locally owned for a long time https://www.fareway.com/meatmarkets/store/202Fareway's been opening the meat-only stores in the KC area.
Skipping class on Wednesday's to play 36 holes for like 35 bucks should be on every ISU student who golfs itinerary. Hole 14 can suck it tho, crammed into a little corner. The best part of Boone is Honey Creek Golf Club.
Love it. I always laugh when I see the QT adjacent to Krause's $150M HQ building. And it’s right in front of the west Hy-Vee, which is top-level trolling.

Fareway buys two eastern Iowa stores. Makes you wonder how Brothers ended up in Lisbon and Denver.

Fareway Acquires Two Eastern Iowa Grocery Store Locations
Fareway will open grocery stores in two Eastern Iowa towns this spring.khak.com
Denver and Lisbon are approx. 80 miles apart. That is what puzzles me. They are not close to each other.Denver's original grocery store went out of business, so there was a need for a grocery store. And Brothers opened up. The DeVries family was probably familiar with it since Denver and AP are in the same conference.
Hopefully Denver supports Fareway, Brothers kind of struggled. But Fareway has more experience in the small towns. And a HyVee in north Waterloo closed last year.

I had never heard of Brothers and never researched them. I assumed Denver and Lisbon were their only locations. My bad.My hometown has a Brothers Market. It's nice, and needed here. But people are worried if they are shedding some of their stores. They didn't have many to begin with. What that means in the longer term is uncertain.
I think they still have 5 or 6 locations in eastern Iowa small towns.I had never heard of Brothers and never researched them. I assumed Denver and Lisbon were their only locations. My bad.
