Great article. Royce was the only thing that kept us from getting blown out in that UT game, missed FTs and all. Hope Cyclone fans keep up the positive support and he comes back for (at least) 1 more year!

Nice article, glad everything has worked out so far here at ISU for him. He is really fun to watch play!

Damn I miss Hy-Vee. They just opened one in Sycamore, 37 miles from my house. I've actually decided to drive that far for grocery shopping a couple times since then.

Just went on ESPN.com and saw this is the front story for Men's basketball. Great exposure for ISU. Good for Royce too...

I'm guessing those anxiety issues play a big role in White's struggles at the free throw line. I would imagine they make a tough situation that much worse...

Do many athletes turn to quick fix solutions like hypnosis, Prozac, etc for these types of mental issues or do they all still go by the old adage, "practice makes perfect"?

Yeah, I did not realize that he has those issues. Could that be something that is exacerbated by a few free throw misses (for example)? One miss begets another, begets another, etc.

Therapy
Meds
Practice
and a number of other factors

Any of these, all of these, or most likely a combination of a few different things can help get these issues under control, but it can take YEARS to find the right combo for each person...

reading that article...there's no way he'll go to the nba early. People need to stop worrying about it, he has other goals in life and basketball is helping him get to where he wants to be...one of the best articles i've ever read.
