I think the Pac12 can put something close together with Oregon and Washington still in the league, but it has to be a matter of time before they are gone. USC and UCLA are not going to happy being the only two west coast teams. but at the same it will be interesting to see what kind of deal the pac12 puts together for longevity. Why would orgeon or washington want to sign anything that keeps them away from leaving to the BIG? this is all just really jacked up.

The downward trend for NFL - Amazon viewers has to be a concern for the streamers. The trend is ugly for the top league.

Anyone ever watch MLB on Apple? Anyone even know the MLB was on Apple?

Yormark gets an A for this deal. The Big 12 was dead (again) and now has stability without a haircut. A total win

Streaming is a joke. If you want your league to die go ahead and put yourself on a streaming service.

This TV deal is great and anyone that has, or is, saying streaming is the future and is a good thing is completely fooling themselves.

It's really trending that way, streaming sounds great, but still less than half the country are currently streaming.
When OU and UT announced they were leaving the conference, a lot of the talking head, include Bowlsby, was saying that they were worth half of the TV contract. People were gleefully predicting that ISU would be like the AAC and getting $15 million a year.
How things have now change, with the amount of money ISU will receive, they can continue to pay top coaches, keep the updating infrastructure going and staying a P5 conference.

Amazing how the death of the Big 12 announcements have fading into nothingness.

So does the shine come off this deal somewhat, since ESPN is reporting it includes third tier rights and those can't be put up for bid separately?

Genuine question for people more attuned to these deals than me.

Feels like it wouldn't be but for a school like Arizona, being in the best basketball conference in the country could also sweeten the spot. Would they come alone?
I'm wondering if we ever get to a spot where Arizona convinces one to take the plunge and then two feel like they have to fall after since they've already lost two.

$10MM per year per team more
is it though? $2 billion divided by a 6 year contract spread across 12 schools doesn’t come out to $50 million per year per school. What am I missing? Assuming the escalation clause, but what does that look like?
