Is this for football players only?
Hopefully football and men’s basketball only.
Not yet…this is a war of attrition. What one school does this year, the others will do it next year and do it bigger. There’s no end to this. Not a nickel from the hoks or KKKirk.
Hopefully football and men’s basketball only.
Group of 5 schools such as UConn and UCF said they plan to start by offering bonuses to athletes who play the sports that generate the most revenue, and expand from there.
Looks like Kansas won't pay the players.![]()
I thought that would be a title 9 issue but looks like they can pick and choose sports and amounts.
Why does it matter if it's only for football and men's basketball if someone's willing to pay for everyone?

Waste of funds, should be funneling all that to football and mens basketball.
I'd hardly call a few thousand dollars for making grades a "waste of funds", especially when it's likely most of the football and basketball players won't be making the grades to get it in the first place - especially if someone else is willing to shell the money out for it.

We are one of 22 schools offering academic bonuses of up to $5,980. Article mentions that ISU holds the bonus money and pays it lump sum if student/athlete graduates. This could be of some benefit in recruiting.
A few years back, I had a friend tutor a bball player at ISU who wasn’t passing a basic math class with up to 3 test retakes. Guessing all schools have had these classes pre/post NIL.Devil's advocate, does that but unwanted pressure on the academic administration to be lenient on grades and shadow classes?
No lawyer - but I doubt that would be legal.Waste of funds, should be funneling all that to football and mens basketball.
