With BIG games being put on ESPN+ for basketball and im guessing football in the near future, how are bars going to show games?
I believe there is a law against streaming online games to tvs in bars because bars have to pay per tv for games
I dont go to games at bars unless they are the real big ones like mvc tourny or ncaa tourny games. Most of the NCAA tourney games I go to in person though Honestly I have never seen their games streamed in bars on tvs.I feel like this is a time to step in and again clarify that I am not this guy. I've been around a bit.
And to answer your question, they have the internet in bars. They buy a subscription and show it on their TVs just as they do now. You'd think a UNI fan would know that as the Missouri Valley has been on that platform for 5 years.

You are pathetic. With BIG games being put on ESPN+ for basketball and im guessing football in the near future, how are bars going to show games?

So Hawk fan, rather than go on his own board to talk about his 4-0 team with a big game coming up, comes on here to ask a question that he proceeds to answer himself 3 posts later in some lame attempt to troll us about ESPN+. Good work.
Go look at my posts and threads. they are legit questions and posts. I am not trolling. you guys just have it in your head I am trying to make fun of and troll isu. I am not. Isu is a team I follow and cheer for. I even went to the Texas game last year @ Texas. Just get it out your heads that im trolling because im notGuy makes multiple threads and posts a day trolling this site and mimicked the user name of a credible, quality poster and he still hasnt been banned.
What am I missing?
Then literally every bar in Cedar Falls is breaking the law for every UNI game.
They purchase a 'Commercial Subscription' that allows them unlimited streams. It's something like $250 for the year. Crazy enough that a MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR company like ESPN already had that figured out when they launched. It's like they want as many people as possible watching their product.
Any sports bar worth its salt has the technology in place to stream. Especially with more and more going that way as well as the UFC being exclusively streaming at this point.
ESPN+ doesn't currently have a commercial subscription, bars can still buy UFC through the old PPV model, doesn't work for the rest of the ESPN+ content.
Our game watch bar has a set up to watch streaming content, but they won't pay for the access, the alumni group needs to provide it because there isn't a commercial license. Its a weird way to skirt the law because this way the bar isn't violating the terms on their own, and probably won't hold up if ESPN actually went after them.
Thank you for pointing this out like I had already and no one believed itESPN+ doesn't currently have a commercial subscription, bars can still buy UFC through the old PPV model, doesn't work for the rest of the ESPN+ content.
