Isnt that where his cuz' Supo Sanni went to?

Do we blame the kids or the recruiting services that publish the kids every move for stuff like this? Dont these kids get benefits as soon as they verbally commit? Like training help, videos, etc? How pissed would you be if you're a coach that helped him get better and gave him a bunch of info about your training?

I think I'm beginning to understand what women mean when they say a man can't handle a commitment.

Is Ellington going for Quincy Morgan's record? Didn't he commit to Baylor, then us before getting recruited away by Bill the Snake Snyder?

If Zooker can lock down the Illinois borders, the Illini are going to have a very competitive team for a long time.

I told people last year that Zooks was building something special but nobody listened. I think he's a great recruiter and Illinois is a very attractive local for recruits. I think Iowa is going to have a lot more competition from Illinois and Indiana in the future than they'd ever thought possible.

This is very true! The only saving grace Iowa has vs Illinois is that Zook will be on the Illinois sidelines on game day! And if you don't think that makes a difference throw in a tape of the Iowa - Illinois game from this season! He might get all the talent...and in the Big Ten that will mean a lot! But he does some of the strangest things on game day! Sometimes that helps them win (OSU) but sometimes it helps them lose games they should win (Iowa)!

It's no wonder Kirk is not denying interest in the Michigan job. With his recruiting woes in Illinois (the Zook effect) and stiff competition from Wisconsin (the Bielma effect), he may see the writing on the wall. Kirk would win and win bigger at Michigan than he could ever do at Iowa. Makes sense to at least consider it.

No, I think his silence on the subject is what's causing a lot of unease with the recruits. The rumors and then him not saying anything publicly about it is a great recruiting tool for wonderfully ethical guys like the Zooker.

Would Ferentz fit with this title since he took a verbal from Ellington after he verballed to ISU?

How dare you try to question a hawkeye's ethics!!!:biglaugh:

I think that his silence indicates he is thinking about this opportunity more than we think. Of course Les Miles has to turn the job down first, but I think KF may be gone if Les turns it down.

He de-committed from ISU then committed to Iowa after a while. Iowa didn't "poach" from anybody. However, that doesn't mean that what Ellington and Ford are doing is any better. I said it when Ellington verballed to Iowa, and when Ford wavered, I'm not a big fan of de-committing.

When another coach is to blame, however is when a player is currently a solid verbal, and they continue to recruit them and convince them to change their minds. In this case, both Ellington and Ford did this.

I'm sorry I wasn't sitting around for a response...

Iowa didn't really want those guys anyway. Now they have a chance to recruit over them.

And, while I'm getting those highly anticipated Hawk comments out of the way now-- here's another-- just in- Bob Stoops says he wants the Iowa job but OU won't let him out of his contract.

So you don't think much of the competition of Iowa State against Iowa considering the special thing that Chizik is building in Ames?

Considering everything going on here, and at Wisky, Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri, Iowa's pretty much SCREWED at this point...

How the hell do you know that Zook poached anyone? Speculation at best.

The sour grapes on the other recruit and whining about this one is classic Hawk talk.

Especially considering Iowa did accept a commitment, on signing day, from a kid that was committed elsewhere in Cedric Everson.

We'll see if that was a good idea or not, but regardless it's not like there are totally unethical things going on all over the place. You recruit a kid until he signs or you're an idiot in this business.
