I've been thinking about getting an electric razor to save myself some time. Does anyone here have any recommendations for me?

I've used a Remington for about 15 years. Saved me a ton of money on shaving cream and razors. I found that I get a much closer shave, and less razor burns if I don't press very hard. But, if I let my beard grow for three or more days, I have to go old-fashioned again.

Where they love the governor
I opened this thread thinking there'd be a discussion on altering footballs with a razor to change how they act during a game...

As far as using an electric razor on your face, I avoid them at all costs. Makes my face hurt!

I've used an electric one for years and get along fine with it. Once in a while, I'll get a little bit of burn on my neck. I think it just depends on the person and if their skin can handle it.

It's easier on my skin compared to a traditional razor. Probably cause it doesn't cut as close to the skin. That's not an issue for me because I don't have black/dark hair.

I used to use one (a Braun). When I first switched to it there was an adjustment period (full of the pulling/burning, etc.) but after a couple weeks I got used to it. I never was able to get it as close as with a safety razor though. Eventually it crapped out and I reverted because I didn't want to spend the money on another one. I don't plan on switching back. I guess having tried both methods I'll spend a few extra minutes with the safety razor because I like the closer shave.

My skin always gets irritated when I use a razor vs my electric. Too close with a blade.

You need to buy a good razor (I guess Braun is getting props here) or you will regret it.

This goes both ways..if you buy the cheap 2 blade disposable razors you likely will get a lot of razor burn. But if u spend the extra and get a gillete fusion with the 5 blades its much better.

I avoid razor burn by shaving in the shower. I also use a Gillette Mach III or anything from Gillette. I tried a Schick and it has issues getting cleaned out. Just gets clogged with hair really quick

I have one of the 3 series from Braun. Off hand I don't remember the exact one I have because mine is a year or two old.
Series 3 electric shaver models for shaving - Braun

I love the thing. I actually have a really sensative face. I literally can't shave with a real razor 2 days in a row without looking like a bloody mess. Most razors and electrics cause my face to break out in bumps that then get thrashed the next morning. This is one of the few that I've been able to use every day. And it's fairly quick as well.

I just started using a Panasonic Arc 4 after using a Braun. It is a wet/dry shaver that can be used with shaving gel. I think it is the best shave w/ an electric.

If you don't want a close shave, go electric. Nothing as close as a good blade. Need to buy good ones and keep them fresh.

Shaved w/a blade for 15 years. Just switched to 7 series Braun 3 months ago. Will never go back to a blade. Face is just as smooth w/ zero irritation.

Try drugstore.com. That's where I found best price online.
