We needed a slasher and we got one. When Gilbert was healthy his ability to get to the rim and move the defense was extremely important
He seems to fit that type of role.

Among the transfers, Williams does a little of that, too, but looks more like he fills a little more of Cujo niche with the 3-threat.

Who knows how much time the freshmen will get, but seem to have solid depth at guard position.

A nice surprise from coming home after 4 hours of Saturday afternoon painting (my son's new house).

Some good Cyclone news from the portal! Let's go!

Welcome to Ames, Dom!

everyb is year to year so it doesn’t matter
I totally get what you are saying here. It’s frustrating and annoying this day and age in college sports. That being said, at least we have lipsey, Milan, heise, and Jefferson’s money to spend after next year since they all graduate. So if this dude does pan out we can pay him….. kinda… lol

Saw an analysis someone else shared a while back. He gets large % of his buckets in transition. Will have to work on his jump shot, but he'll be in focus town now for a while so improvement should take care of itself (eh, DeAndre Kane?).
His shot looks fluid when he shoots off the dribble so I think he can improve on his open shot form

He’s 3 years into his college career and been playing basketball and working out his whole life. Don’t expect his body or his shot to be transormed.
Stranger things have happened. Nate Heise was shooting in the low 20's and then shot over 50% for the rest of the season from 3 just this past year. Tamin went from mid 20's to near 40% in an off season. People like Kemba Walker and Jason Kidd come to mind. Jamaal Tinsley went from 24% in his 1st year at ISU to 38% in his 2nd. Shooting is absolutely something that can be practiced and learned. It doesn't happen for everyone and there is a ton of work required.
As far as his body, ISU does a pretty phenomenal job on this front. He may still be wiry, but I would expect him to be in the best shape of his life after they are done with him.

Doesn't Milan have two more years?
