Living in Colorado, I have to root for the Buffaloes. Their fans aren't very good, but the staff that work there in the athletic department are great people.

As far as # 2 goes...you can put me in the Notre Dame column for football (one side of my family used to get together and watch nearly every game on TV) and in the UNC column for basketball (I started following MCBB closely when Antwan Jamison was playing, he was easily my favorite)

1. UNI. Cedar Falls is where I grew up.
2. South Dakota State. Where my parents met and my dad is an alum.

If it's specific to college sports, I voted "only one team" in the poll, but even that needs an asterisk.

I care about ISU far more than any other schools, but I can find a reason to root for others on occasion — I just wouldn't consider it "my next favorite."

An easier way for me to do this is, if I was not allowed to consider ISU my top team, who would be my favorite?

Oregon (by a long shot)
LSU
UCLA (football far more than bball)
Miami (I like their colors and their helmets )

I have a fairly easy time in college basketball, where I could tune in to a random game and cheer for one team even if it's just because I want to cheer against the opponent.

I could probably consider the Hawkeyes a distant second, but only if I never returned to the state of Iowa for any reason.

Pro sports = different criteria.
