I talked to him yesterday in Ross hall. He said he is going to transfer to Vincennes Junior College in Indiana.

Saw you posted that on another board yesterday, had to wait a full day to post it here, eh? Damn servers. :baffled5wh:

Anywho...this stinks...Dodie was a good player and an even better kid. The Mrs. was upset when I told her about it a few weeks ago...her favorite basketball player.

I wish Dodie the best and will be keeping an eye on his career.

Where ever there is danger.
I think the deal is that all of these players that are leaving were just not the right fit for McD or ISU. He didn't have the luxury to get the people that he knows would fit his system, his style, and this school. He had to get players and get players fast.

One think I HATED about the LE days was his love of running players off of the team. For right now, I'm giving McD a pass on this. I think some of the guys he brought in last year were basically forced on him because the need was so great.

I am very interested in seeing this huge group of freshman he has coming in, and what their future at ISU will be like. I'm hoping that our coach has recruited the right players for his system and ISU. I'm sick of seeing recruits that either don't come to ISU to begin with, or don't finish their careers here. If ISU is going to get to high places, this has to stop, and hopefully it will after this year.

I can tell you without a doubt, G-Mac is not running guys off. First, it's not his style.

Second, we know the reasons why Ross and Corey left. I also am aware of why Dodie is leaving. None have anything to do with Greg running them off or anything of the sort.

I assume you're not trying to antagonize us! It's human nature to want to know the reason behind something; ie - I want to know why the VA Tech shooter did what he did and I want to know why Dodie has chosen to leave ISU! Please refrain from the "I know something you don't know and I'm not gonna tell you" stuff! :no6xn:

In the past 4 years, only 3 of the 13 high school players who enrolled stayed around for 4 years or are still here.
Here - CJ, WJ, Clark
Gone - Stinson, Blalock, George, Carr, Agnew, Evanovich, Taggart, Degand, Marsden, Dunson.
Also gone JCs McIntosh and Faulkner
Throw in the guys who signed but didn't show up - T Davis, K Lee, Chariev, Stinnett

My apologies.

I just wanted to ward off any thought process or hints at G-Mac running guys out of the ISU program. If I wanted to do what you noted, I would've done it weeks ago when I found out.

Just because a former coach did it, doesn't mean G-Mac is.

I'm a little confused that everyone talks about how great of a student Dodie is, that he's leaving because of academics, and he's going to a junior college. That doesn't add up. And of the people "in the know," no one has been able to say why there has been no official announcement even though this has supposedly been known for weeks.

If you know something and are going to share, share it. If not, then watch quietly. It's the courteous thing to the posters here and to Dodie because it limits speculation.

Well he was a great student at prep school, and the prep school's purpose is to get their student/athletes into college. Which means I think it is easier than actual high school, but I don't know.

I agree. You need to respect the privacy of the individual involved. Granted, that's tough when he's such a public figure.

This stinks. I liked Dodie and thought he had some potential. We going to have enough players to put five on the court next winter? Jeesh.
