That is one of the problems with some of the doormat teams coming on strong this year. There are lots of more desirable teams in the midwest anymore.
Ill, Mizzou, KU. We used to be able to competetive with them, but they all look like they are building up something big.

Where did you see that he visited Kansas this weekend? He's still shown through Rivals as a Solid Verbal and usually if they're taking other visits that changes to Soft verbal?

We really need to keep him. Defensive line is where we need guys and he is a 3* from texas. this sucks
Just because he visited and likes them doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. Most kids visit more than one school that they like. I'm not too worried about it until he says that they is opening up his recruitment again.
EDIT: My bad, I should have read the article on Jayhawkslant first. That is not good news. ISU didn't come off too well telling him not to go on the trip.

kansas has no chance. I know they only have one loss but they havent beaten one team with a vote in any poll. OVERATED. go V TECH
I hate to say this guys but I'm willing to bet that 90% of high school kids see Iowa State as on the same level as Baylor. Maybe a little bit better. I know we have had some respectable seasons in the last decade but we haven't had much national attention at all.
If Chizik is going to get this program going he will have to find some diamonds in the ruff and be able to coach up 2 star prospects.

Hopefully Mangino starts getting mentioned for some of these openings. He's the big name right now and if he jumps ship then suddenly Lawrence doesn't look so great.

Okay he visited, and the article wasnt available for general subscription, but, so what if he visited....i know he might see something he likes here or there, but, in order for him to have made the decision that he's accepting our schollie, he must have made a connections with scott fountain and that's one of those things that you either feel good about or you don't.....i think he's seeing whats out there, and now i hope he understands that another college may have nicer facilities or this or that, but, ISU is a program on the rise and that means talented players can come in and contribute at a younger age if qualified....he goes to Kansas, he will not see the field until 2009 oh by the way, that will be the senior class of recruits going through that has them where they are today.....
When we got this guy i was surprised, i hope we can keep him........Is it Ironic that Kansas was also interested in Jake Mcdonough and Tracy Robertson???? I hate kansas even more now that fat boy is winnin....
Chiz is going to build a winner, anyone who's ever heard him speak will know that...he will get the players that understand the effort and what it takes to build a winner!!!!
If you could have read the article you would understand our disappointment. It wasn't a "I'm keeping my options open". It was more like Kansas is in the driver's seat even though I've committed to Iowa State.

I hope Jay and Chiz gets on the plane and goes to visit....I'm sure now that Bedford (Juco) has all but said he's committed to USF they're looking at the DEnd spot, they had talked a lot about Bedford and now he's gone....so they go after our guy.....i hate Kansas....
