Did anybody else go to this place if you were going to ISU in the late 1980's? It was a country bar and at the time you could go down on Thursday night and get in for $3 or $4 and drink until 11 or midnight for free. They almost always had a live country band. The beer was cheap and the bands so so, but we were in college and we could make any night into a fun night if we wanted to.:v_SPIN: I had a lot of fun at that place. Remember one year going to down for St. Patricks day there and the next week they still had green beer on tap....

True dat. I never got why people who never grew up on a farm felt it was necessary to slap on cowboy boots to go to a country music bar.

I'm admittedly about as city kid as they come... but I've been dragged there once after being at other bars. Never again.

I may not be the biggest fan of outlaws, but they do have some attractive tail the nights I've been there. Luckily, there is country night as at yokes now thats a bit more casual, less rednecky that I can attend.

Speaking of Outlaws, is it more socially acceptable to drive drunk if you're from a farm town? In those rural communities is it just something everyone does? I ask because I always see beefed up trucks parked outside Outlaws or on Welch. Also, living on Lincoln Way inevitably on Thursday/Friday/Saturday i'll be walking home and see one of those said trucks pulled over.
