I have a group of photos I need to print and will begin using this more often in the future.

I would like to find an online store with very good quality and the best prices. I've looked at a few reviews without much substantial info.

Anyone used these and which ones do you like the best?

I have a batch I need to get done ASAP and will use Walgreens - but I think I can get better prices than that. If not - let me know and I'll stick with them. :)

We have used walmart in ankeny, it is fast and pretty cheap. The pic quality seems better than walgreends too.

I know we have also used snapfish, and it was not all that much better than walmart, so we just go back since the pics will be ready in an hour. I have a friend that is a pro photographer, he told us the walmart printer in ankeny was one of the top of the line models, and should give us really good results.

We used ShutterFly once because I had a coupon where you got around 50 free prints or something like that. It was pretty good but they were just 5x7's and nothing bigger.

For the immediate need, I got 98 4x6 prints for $.10 each and can pick them up after 3 today at Walgreens - they have a special through 1/12/08 that 4x6 prints are just $.10 when you print 30 or more.

Could not beat that deal, but their regular price is $.15 per 4x6 print.

Not the cheapest, but the best quality that I have used is Mpix.

I've had 8x10s and photobooks printed by them. Very fast service, I up loaded my books, and had them delivered within one week. They ship from Kansas.

Adorama.com

Their prints are inexpensive and supposedly hand-checked for exposure, etc. I have had a couple of large orders done here and they turned out great.

Also, digital photos are not 4x6, as is the paper they are printed on. So places like Wal-Mart and Walgreens will make the photo fit the paper, thus chopping off some heads and messing with the cropping. It's all automated, so you get what you get.

At Adorama, you can choose to keep the original ratio on your photos. This will leave small white 'borders' on each side of the print, but the whole photo will be there just as you shot it.
El-Co Color Labs. Your professional lab for quality digital and optical printing Another great place with similar features to Adorama. Have had some enlargements done here and they actually called me with questions to make sure I was getting what I wanted.

Remember to factor in shipping with the cost of the prints.

You beat me to it. I was going to suggest Adorama. I seldom make prints but when I do it's with them. And, 22, this is where I've bought every piece of digital equipment I own.

We use Shutterfly (my wife) and she loves it. You can send others emails to view the pics and they can buy direct from Shutterfly. I think the prints are cheap also and they come out very good. We got a picture enlarged and matted and framed from them and it came out very good but maybe a little expensive.

I'm actually looking at big print places right now for making a couple CF posters (office and basement) and it looks like Zazzle.com is pretty nice for some of the more unique items, not necessarily for smaller prints like you wanted. They look like the have good prices for the larger sizes but not for the more traditional print sizes.
