That kid looked like he was 3 steps ahead of everybody else....always. Incredible.
From 1:30ish to 1:45 he made the other team look silly. Wow.

Unfortunately I'm going to guess that we don't end up with him, but it's good to get some face time and match up with the big boys.

He looked like he was just playing with the other team on the video and he was only a sophmore then.

I think it is easier to find running backs for the spread than your traditional I back as the quantity is higher, but I know what you're saying. Is there a "spread" for defensive tackles? I assume 4-3 is what they like to play, which we employ. Sure would be great to be a haven for some nice interior linemen. The defensive line already has me worried for the Rhoads era at ISU.
Mature DT's are few and far between and the better schools swallow them up. We will have to grow them. Some of our best DT's have been grown and developed and not highly recruited. Look for McDonough, Jensen, etc to follow this mold. It is the same process our enemies to the east have employed and it works well for them. Very rarely will ISU win a recruiting battle for a DT.

I'm over the whole Gene Chizik-Iowa State debacle, but we all know it be nice to stick it to him any chance we get.

Getting this guy would be a nice stick to Chizik.
Doesn't sound like you are completely over it:wink:

What level of football are we watching here. The players look smaller and slower than other videos . Is his highschool in a smaller division than other Top recruits. For a Sophmore to dominate like that, multiple highlight reel runs in the same games, makes you wonder about his competitions talent level.

All the above aside, we will continue to need a speedy slashing back in this style of offense, so it is nice to see us getting in early on some of these guys.

Nealy...now there is a familiar name for us TTech fans. At one time, he had Tech as his number one, but, then we got a commit from Bradley Marquez (who some say would be a better slot WR, than a RB).

I'm still not real sure what has happened with Tech, and Nealy. I'm thinking after the Marquez commit, TTech kind of backed off...but not real sure.

Anyway, I know a lot of Tech fans wanted Nealy. If he's that good, then I hope he stays in SEC country, just so we wouldn't have to play against him.

I interpreted his dance moves as part of his vision.

Clips beginning at 1:31 and 1:47 — they don't seem to be just finesse moves, but deciding to backtrack and pick up blocks when his speed alone isn't doing the trick.

I kinda want this guy really bad.

I completely agree with you. I should have clarified that it was more about worrying how it might translate to the college game.

He kinda reminds me of Barry Sanders..alters speed and switches direction quickly and uses his hips. I agree he does kinda hang the ball out to dry sometimes but that is fixable. Go get em!

Funny my first impression was that he looked a lot like Walter Payton especially the way he ran in a crowd and on his toes. Maybe somewhere in between. More physical then Barry but more elusive then Walter.

Yeah I know he's just a high schooler playing against high schoolers but I do like the way he runs.

edit: Does a little Payton high step in this video. Bout half way through.
