Des Moines pizza restaurants?

Any recommendations? I'm staying in Des Moines tonight and I'm craving pizza. I tend to like thin crust the best, but I'm open to suggestions otherwise as well.

Tavern for thin crust.
Felix and Oscars for thick crust.
Big Tomato for different toppings.

I'm going to answer your question with the best answer possible, but I must ask that you not share this information with anyone else, whether they're friend, foe or family.

If you like thin crust, go to the Plaza Pub which is immediately S of Merle Hay Mall on Douglas.

Get the buffalo wing pizza.

The most well-known places for thin crust are the Tavern and Mustards. Doesn't mean they're the best, just the most well known. Where are you staying?

I'm by Jordan Creek, but willing to drive downtown, etc.

I've had Tavern's pizza and it was good, but I wouldn't mind trying something else.

The coal-fired oven at Centro only gets to about 900 degrees.

I'd recommend Big Tomato for thin crust. Fong's is solid too.

Big Tomato is on Ingersoll, and Fong's is downtown, across from the Royal Mile.

Coach's is out by Jordan Creek, next to Cabaret West Glen. It's not amazing, but it's pretty solid.

I'm one of those guys that thinks pizza is rarely great, or rarely terrible, but usually pretty good.

There is a Mustards near the Windsor Heights Hy-Vee on University. Just head East off 73rd, and if you see Herky you've gone too far; it's in the complex just South of the Front Row.

That may have been TMI, but I don't know how familiar you are with the area.

These aren't pizza places but I've had good pizza there. Cosi Cucina and Biaggi's. Thin crust but the options are minimal. I stick to the ones with salami, capicola, sausage, etc...

I generally order a burger or pizza where ever I go. I'm pretty high class

My expierence
South, Bordanaros thin, sauce is strong recommend mild if the stomach can't take it.

East, Hilltop is great pizza also thin (think Babes and Chucks before Chucks
went down hill)

Johnston, Pagliais spelling looks wrong but close enough and the pizza is top notch

La Pizza House on SE 14th.

The restaurant is a total ****hole, but the Graziano's sausage pizza and onion rings are the best in town IMO. Get carryout.

Scornovacca’s is great.

Frank's Pizza formerly in the Drake neighborhood was great too. They were relocating to Ingersoll, but I don't think that has happened yet. Hopefully they survive and can get a location on Ingersoll sometime soon.
