We'll be in Des Moines area next week, and would like to include a few tours. Basically the Iowa State Capitol and Terrace Hill are on the docket. I'm also interested in the other sites included in the PBS segment (see below)

Any other recommendations would be welcome! Thank you in advance! :cool: :cool:

I'm not sure what their schedule is, but maybe a tour of the World Food Prize Building. It is a beautiful building.
Only open for tours on Tuesdays, then Wednesdays & Thursdays by appointment.

My son’s wedding was there last fall. It’s just a beautiful structure.

Even if you can’t get inside for a tour you can stroll the grounds outside (if they don’t have an event). Those are gorgeous as well.

It's demolished now, but there was a house/building off of Grand in West Des Moines. It looked like an art deco movie theater. I always wanted to walk through it to see what the heck it looked like from the inside, but it's demolished now.
