You can dissect the game a 100 different ways, but the last two game came down to too many guys playing too many plays. The OL could no longer make holes when they were dominating the LOS, guys that were making tackles were missing them, there was zero pressure on the OSU QB in the later part of the third quarter and the 4th quarter. Everyone can see the progress, but everyone can also see that their is just not enough gas in the tank to finish the games.

Agree, we need more dudes. Can't lose that game though, at some point you have to nut up and just push through.

I think it's about 50 percent depth/talent and 50 percent of sphincters tightening late in the game. Gotta learn how to close the deal when you get the chance.

I think the staff can get the job done along the o-line with existing players. Maybe a stud JUCO LT. Good-Jones, Campos and Scoggins would be a solid group to build from.

The defense is another issue. Seems like we could use another JUCO DT, a Juco DE and a big JUCO LB- think Tim Dobbins. Otherwise, I think the staff is better of recruiting HS kids.

We have the coaching, the growth and the schemes. Just need a few more kids.

The progress is promising. Every team has forever to throw the ball in the fourth against us. D Line depth is a big problem. Oline is fine as it is. If we can do that for three quarters with two walk ons playing I think we'll be fine with the young kids in the pipeline.

Scoggins likely won't be back. Sounds like a longshot to get another year. Campos may not either, right? So it could just be Good-Jones coming back. We could definitely use a stud JUCO OL or two IMO.

Campos is only a Junior, so even if he doesn't get a medical RS, we'll still have him next year at the very least

A big part of it comes down to conditioning also. OSU and Baylor play up tempo offense for the exact reason of not giving the other teams the opportunity to change out players on defense.

We have few replacements anyway.

I'm hoping Foster will be a solid contributor or even a starter next year. Plus the two JUCO kids who are redshirting this year.

Just need to find a way to get to the 4th quarter with enough to win.

Also, as Campbell always says, your 'A' players need to have 'A' games. Washington from OSU definitely had an 'A+' game, the ISU WRs not so much. Way to many drops and a fumble.

They will have a chance with Scoggins. Had a documented injury cost him his 1st and 4th years in college.

We go into every conference game (except KU) with a talent deficit - that is a given and better recruiting will start to close that gap. Part of the problem with the defense is during the 4th quarter the offense goes 3 and out several times or turns the ball over and puts the defense out there the whole quarter and then the lack of quality on defense is exposed. We need the skill players to step up and make plays - AL had a drop yesterday, Epps fumble, QB inaccuracy - basically total offensive failure. A few first downs in either game could have changed the outcomes.

All I'm saying is that I don't think we're ok with what we have on the OL for next season and don't need to add anything. Good-Jones and Meeker are playing before most of our sophs and juniors and also before the 2 JUCO's we brought in to help THIS season.

Hopefully some of these guys will step up their games next year and be able to contribute, but I wouldn't be counting on it as a head coach. I think you need to try to find at least one JUCO OL to bring in. All I hear about is another DB or WR visiting. That's fine, but when you have a limited amount of schollies available, you can't use up too many on DB's and WR's. Gotta have some bodies on the OL and DL.

Scroggins getting the medical waiver isn't a sure thing. We got two stud juco DT already. We got a Juco DE Justin Stewart that to my knowledge isn't playing this year. We got two stud hs linebackers coming next year plus I hear Sutton is a good player.
