Any news on the progress of Howard Brown? He is from KC and played QB in high-school. Is an intriguing recruit for defensive line but have not heard much about his development.
Thanks.

I have not heard anything. I've always assumed he was kind of a raw prospect with a high upside; usually those guys take a couple years to develop.

Don't know specifically about Brown, but it sure seems to me coach sheed has turned a historically weak position group into a team strength, the Cyclone chain gang!!
I think the big thing is that there is some depth at the position. I remember some years before CMC if a starter went down or needed a rest, the other team would run right at the sub with huge success. Not so much the last 3-4 years.

I would guess that he has a lot of work to do, given he has limited DL experience. They have some really experienced guys in front of him in Lee and Singleton. And supposedly, Orange made some waves this spring. It would not surprise me if Brown was running 4th string right now at NG.

If I remember right Brown was pushing 330 when he got to campus (or something close to it, Rasheed said in an interview).

He’s behind a pair of good experienced guys on the interior. I’m still hopeful he can develop.

I think Howard is an athletic freak for a guy his size.... must just need to work on his technique I'm guessing.

I think that Howard isn’t the only young athletic freak we have one the interior now—but he’s the one who has played the position the least of the three.

Give him some time, he’ll be fine.

Players, formations, plays.

I think Ben Lamaak who was on our offensive line was a quarterback in high school his senior season. And he wound up starting and being a very good lineman. Pretty sure he was here under three different head coaches also.

I still want to see his QB skills on 4th and short! Just would like to see him run over people!

Watching his highlights i never saw a push the pile type runner. After he's through the crease he's was a freaking freight train.

He's big enough that if he could get to the edge he'd make DB's think twice about trying to bring him down.

Y'all don't talk about Tyler Onyedim and Domonique Orange enough
Onyedim is sort of the forgotten man, which is strange, because the coaches have been saying really good things about him going back to last year. In fact, didn't they say he was good enough to take the redshirt off when he was a true freshman if they had to?
