Lynch is a fascinating filmmaker. Lotta big hits. Lotta big misses.

We've talked about his version of Dune in other threads, but I still love this intro:



...just not as in love with the rest of the film. Nonetheless, a great artist who had vision and took risks to try and expand the artform, which is far too rare nowadays. RIP to a real legend.

I've never seen Eraserhead so I decided to watch it. Almost 15 minutes in and I have no idea what I'm watching.

Sometimes both for me. Loved twin peaks until the mid point of the second season. Then I hated it, including fire walk with me. The man could create one hell of an atmosphere, so weird and dark yet hilarious.

I agree with this so hard. I vehemently abhor the last half of the second season and Fire Walk With Me. It took something so great into the toilet. I can't bring myself to watch the Showtime series because of it.

I really like the Straight Story....but I always felt like it was done on a wierd shoestring budget and lacked some production effort. Still wonderful story. It does reveal a lot of Iowa attitude.
