Loved his version of Dune even though a lot of people hated it. I watched Elephant Man when I was a kid and it had a profound impact on me.

Sometimes both for me. Loved twin peaks until the mid point of the second season. Then I hated it, including fire walk with me. The man could create one hell of an atmosphere, so weird and dark yet hilarious.
