I saw them there too and had the opportunity to speak with both of them for an extended period. ISU put their best foot forward this weekend. Nice kid, good family, fun conversation.

Looking forward to this meet. Gonna be my first wrestling meet ever and taking my 4 year old to his first meet. Any suggestions on best place to try to sit in the general admission seats? Gonna buy the tickets tonight
Oh man, that’s a hell of a first meet. Stay away from the Iowa corner side of the mat. There will be hawks everywhere but they stack up over on that side/corner. I would say get somewhere were you can see our coaches corner good to see their reactions and stuff.
Enjoy. Get there early if your GA. There will be some serious fireworks, avoid hawk fans around you if possible and you’ll want the best seat possible.
Not sure but someone around here will know. I would guess there will be people waiting outside for when they do.
I don’t know how new you are to the sport and you said you’re taking a young kid and I’ve been there many times at cyclone events. But there will be awesome moments maybe in about every match but I would not miss 165 and Heavyweight (and probably 184 too because a pin could happen there).
Ask him if his kid can give you any good betting lock.
Man...I don't want to discourage any wrestling fans....but for your sake and sanity and wanting to take in the atmosphere of a highly charged event...I might find another meet to bring the four yr old to. If you're set on it...warn momma that he might come home with a new vocabulary!
And I say this because Hawkeye fans are stupid and tend to ruin fun situations
Hello guys! I'm flying in to watch the Cyclones whip the Hawks/Oranges. I saw this post and I'm curious if anyone can tell me which section/seat #'s are near the Iowa corner side of the mat? I've already purchased tickets and they are corner mat seats. Curious if I'm gonna be able to see the mat. Might some extra excitement if I can't see the mat because of all the oranges! lol Thanks
My son is 8 and he's been plenty of football games so he's heard some things at ISU events but I already told him, this dual is going to have people that might be really angry and we don't repeat at home what the angry people said (hopefully, his dad isn't one of the angry people).
This is going to be freakin epic.
I won’t be able to attend but it still blows my mind I’ll be able to just turn on ESPN and watch this.
Showcasing duals like this is excellent for the sport.
