Playing for Doc will be good. He wants guys to go out and do their thing and he won’t pull guys for missing shots if they are working and taking good looks.

Way better than playing for Snyder’s calculated ass.
He certainly is playing more freely and looks like a steadying veteran presence out there.

Although Georges will always credit Quin Snyder for believing in him and giving him a shot at the rotation when others seemingly wouldn't. Part of the issue in Utah too, in my opinion, is that you had such ball-dominant guards as Mitchell and Clarkson so a lot of times, Georges' role was just to wait for the kick-out in the corner. People have forgotten the other skills that he has (and which he has continued to improve.

Denver had a disappointing loss to Memphis tonight; they haven't figured out how to be consistent without Jamal Murray. Monte continues to start in Murray's place:

Another DNP for Matt in the Bulls' win over Boston. He is truly the last man on the bench for that squad.

This writer isn't high on Nader's play to start the season (he's only hitting 20% from 3) and thinks others may be taking his rotation minutes in upcoming games:

Nader is an active defender and slasher, and can sink the occasional trey. Unfortunately, his play over the past week has been uninspiring. After an ineffective start for both Abdel and the team, Monty may be looking to experiment.

14 PT / 3 AST / 35 MIN for Tyrese Haliburton last night in a narrow loss to the Jazz.

Nader played 3 first-half minutes for the Suns who were missing Cam Payne.

Chicago vs. Philly tonight -- it'd be nice if Matt could get some run against Georges but it's unlikely.

Hasn't the Suns play in general been uninspiring?

When I look at box scores on my phone a T. Cook is always on the Bulls.

So their box scores must include 2-way contract guys?

I think if they dress for the game but not 100% sure. Since the G League affiliate is in Chicago, that makes it more convenient.

Liberty Ballers has coined a term that I'm all in for:

2) Niangsanity
Georges Niang has been a major bright spot for the Sixers. Minivan is the stretch big who was promised. The emergence of Niang has provided a massive boost to Doc Rivers’ rotation. He’s helping them keep things afloat now. If and when Simmons ever returns to the lineup, Niang would represent the perfect fit for lineups when Embiid rests. He might even be good enough to help convince Embiid to rest more when The Process is dealing with minor-nag injuries.

If Joel had the confidence his team could stack a few wins during nights he was out, he might play things more conservatively during the regular season grind like Kevin Durant did last season, ensuring he was in peak form come the playoffs.

Simmons only logged 202 minutes a season ago without a traditional big. Coach Rivers could one day, theoretically, pair Simmons and Niang in some of the five-out lineups Daryl Morey talked about last season. Rivers didn’t use those much in 2021, preferring to pair Simmons and Dwight Howard, or run with a Tobias Harris and bench unit group when Joel sat. Neither of those options were viable playoff solutions. Perhaps this was because Rivers simply didn’t trust former reserve four, Mike Scott. The team now apparently possesses a major upgrade in that former Threegional Manager role.

Melvin Ejim is playing in Ljubljana, Slovenia and, as usual, representing Cyclone Nation very well. I think this club plays in their domestic league, the Adriatic league AND the Euro Cup.

Looks like Edge and company have a EuroCup match-up tonight in Turkey - that's a high-level competition (Matt's Valencia team won that one year).

Cool "city edition" unis for the 76ers tonight. Here's is Georges' - I cut out the one for the Jayhawk on the other half of the tweet :)
