Kind of a quiet night stat-wise for Monte but the Nuggets eked out a 1-point win over the Rockets, to make it to 5-4. His line: 34 MIN, 9 PT, 4-10 FG, 1-5 3PT, 1 REB, 2 STL, 1 AST and 0 TO.

Nader
played 11 MIN and had 2 PT on 1-4 shooting. He also had 3 TO. The Suns got a 4-pt win over the Hawks to go to 5-3.

Philly is missing like 5 rotation players and they're still winning. Georges was again a big part of it even if his shooting was kind of cold. He had 5 points late in a tight game to help ice the win over the Bulls, including a 3-pointer under 1:25 left when it was about a 2-point game (see tweet below).

Georges' line: 25 MIN, 12 PT, 3-10 FG, 2-6 3PT, 4-4 FT, 1 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL, 0 TO and 5 PF.

Clutch 3 late in the game by Georges: (and a new minivan clip):

Georges with the steal and transition, (and not .... quite... dunking... it).

And probably the only "My fair lady" reference on CF today.

Tyrese scored 17 but the Kings dropped a home game to Indiana to fall back to .500.

I think I underestimate Haliburton's speed. Look how he outruns his opponent on this dunk:

Last night, Monte started out hot with 10 points in the 1Q but only hit 4 more in a good Nuggets' win over Miami, to improve to 6-4. Monte's final line: 30 MIN, 14 PT, 6-11 FG, 2-6 3PT, 3 REB, 5 AST, 1 STL and 1 TO.

I checked and Monte's assist-to-turnover ratio is improving over the last week but is still a bit under 3-to-1.

Haliburton sat out the Kings' loss to the Suns, with a sore back.

Nader got rotation minutes in that one and hit 1 3 (total of 3 points in game) on 1-4 shooting from the field. He's averaging 2.4 PPG so far.

Another DNP for Matt Thomas last night in the Bulls' win over Brooklyn. He hasn't scored yet this season.

I watched the depleted 76ers last night, in their tough loss to the Knicks. Embiid has COVID and between protocol, injuries and a case of being a diva, the Sixers were missing him, B. Simmons, T. Harris, M. Thybulle and I. Joe. They did get Danny Green back.

Philly really battled after falling behind by as much as 19 in the 1st half, and Georges' only made 3 actually gave them a lead with 5:00 to go:

Georges has shot the ball from outside at very low percentage in the last 3 games but has found ways to contribute. 3 hypotheses for his shooting woes: 1. Small sample set; law of averages will kick in 2. He's being asked to create more in his current situation and he'll get used to being a bigger part of the offense or 3. He's forcing it and is taking shots he shouldn't be taking. Not sure where I am on this topic yet but he definitely has a shooter's mentality and isn't showing any fear. Plus he has a lightning-quick release now.

How Georges did finally get some shots to fall (after missing like his first 6 shots or so) was driving to the hole and finishing, ISU-style while jumping 6 inches off the ground. He's crafty and his finishing and ball-handling are elite, in spite of the slowness and lack of jumping.

Georges' line from last night: 15 PT, 6-15 FG, 1-7 3PT, 2-2 FT, 1 REB (which he got with 40 seconds to go - A. Drummond grabbed every rebound in the gym last night and ended with 25) and no other stats other than 2 fouls.

This conflicts with the ISU men's game but Georges and whoever else is healthy for the 76ers are on national TV tonight:

Georges is averaging 12.2 PPG so far.

Had family visiting but saw a headline regarding Morris and Jokic and was like…what?!?!?!? lol
Ah, you mean hitting Markieff Morris? Yes, that could confuse.

He's a Jayhawk that doesn't inspire a lot of love, that's for sure.

If you long for the days of seeing Georges making awkward-but-beautiful buckets off drives, you might want to check out last night's strange highlights. He scored 15 points, only had 2 FTs yet only made one jump shot - a key 3 that gave them a momentary lead. The rest were on runners and layups. The old man game is back except he's a bit quicker and even more skillful now.

The 76ers were even more depleted last night for a back-to-back vs. Giannis and company, with Seth Curry missing the game due to a foot injury (IIRC). They battled hard but Milwaukee came away with the W.

As noted above, Georges came out firing and was again a key part of the rotation. I believe this was his 5th career 20+ scoring game. HIs line: 24 MIN, 21 PT, 7-14 FG, 5-7 3PT, 2 REB, 1 AST, 2 STL, 1 TO and 6 PF. A number of those calls came from the unenviable task of trying to stop Giannis on drives and Georges was not too happy with the refs on a few occasions.

NIang's 5th 3:

Post-game quotes from Georges:

"The energy in this arena is unreal," Niang said. "... I have high expectations for myself. I'm going to go out there and maximize the opportunities that I have. I feel like I've been doing that."
