New to the board here, but I'm an ISU alum living in Utah. We will be RV tailgating in lot 18, it would be great to meet some fellow Cyclones. I'm told that although its against official policy, they look the other way if you aren't being too obvious with alcohol. So stop by and have a Busch Light (in a solo cuo).

This site says that lot has been designated as alcohol friendly as of this year (with joining the Big 12), so not sure it's even against official policy anymore.

If we make it there we'll look for ya.

At the risk of crossing streams and causing a cosmic event.

And thanks to CF for not being as weird as Cougarboard.

I would have exact same fun with no alcohol. I don't really drink much at all. I especially don't drink if there's a game or even I am obsessed with. Started around mid 30s, just not worth it to me beyond an occasional drink or two.

I'd probably stay home if I had to participate in no caffeine culture though. I realize that's a crazy hypothetical because I'm sure nobody cares if you have coffee anywhere any time.

Love that CF has "soft porn". Maybe @Tailg8er avatar?

Ironically my wife is going to SLC for work tomorrow but I am too busy with things to go. I was there with her for same work in July and checked out all three stadiums UU/BYU/USU just to have a look.

I'm in Provo right now. I basically have no plans for tonight, yet. Looking for something to do to make the evening eventfull and non-boring...

what's the good board if there is one?

BTW you have probably 99.999% of Cyclones on your side vs Utah next year.
Cougarboard is about it (however its one of, if not the, most active message boards in CFB).

Is Utah/BYU going to be like Kansas where they pretend Lawrence is a peer city of New York City, Tokyo or Paris?

As a native Iowan living in Los Angeles I get a lot of laughs out of that, maybe we have 3 of them now.

You won't get alot of Provo boasting from the BYU crowd.

KU fans are the kind of amusing arrogant. Lawrence is basically no different than any midwest college town but they act as if it's the high culture center of the universe. Unintentionally making fun of themselves...I mean it's Kansas. The angle that they "invented basketball" is probably more reality based.

I love Utah. I backpack there a lot.

Welcome Welcome to Happy Valley, Cyclones! Ames Native here that grew up watching Big 8 football in the old Clyde Williams field... did a year at ISU then accidentally (yes) transferred to BYU in 1967... graduated there... and have live here since. I was at the game in 1968 as a student when ISU beat BYU back then. a Year later ended up playing with one of the Players.. you might remember Sammy Davis (WR punt returner) "Sammy Davis and the Novelles ltd" for maybe two months summer of 1969... I will be at game tomorrow until I freeze (it's gonna be cool!) though I don't think our seats are anywhere near the Cyclone section.. I'll try to make a visit pregame and maybe Halftime... I'll be the old guy without either BYU or ISU gear on... singing the Ames High fight song... "Students of Ames Senior High... proud of our school are we.... "
Too bad this game is SOOOOO important for both teams if either have any bowl hopes... I think the winner goes bowling...the loser doesn't... ISU has Texas and KSU after.. and BYU has OK (in Provo) and OK State (Stillwater) not a lot of hope there!

I went to the Texas game two weeks ago. My brother (who cheers both for Texas and BYU) wasn't sure who to root for so he just enjoyed the game and hoped for a closely contested, interesting game.

Funny that CW said he could live in Provo without ever visiting, I’d like to see that for a year.
