Another double dip. Saturday practice.
No pushin' no sled on this field!
Makes me wonder how long our practice indoor field lasts? It does take a lot of abuse!
Another double dip. Saturday practice.
Looks like a favorable schedule! We would normally be playing 4 home B12 games and 5 away, this year. With the Ireland game v K-State, a neutral site, that makes it 4 and 4. And we get Iowa at home.
I will wait until next week, to see if we still have a team, before further comment.I don’t like that Ark St trip …. Seems useless and a no win situation for us.
All the way to Ireland, come back for a very good fcs, then suckeyes, then back on the road for a non conference…. YUCK that SUCKS !!!
Three BYE weeks this year due how the calendar falls plus Week 0 game allowing an extra BYE. 9/20, 10/18, and 11/15 are off.
I think having the schedule broken down as 4-3-3-2 is going to be useful for keeping bodies fresher and healthier throughout the season.
I still haven't bought into Avery Johnson as the answer for K-State at QB. I know the talking heads have anointed him the next great thing, but when I watched a replay of our game with them last year, I saw about half a dozen third-down plays where he was running after he couldn't find a receiver and instead of lowering his head and going for a first down, he would either run out of bounds a yard or two short or slide and come up short. He just doesn't have the killer instinct. It's like he doesn't want to mess up his hair. Combine that with his less than pin-point passing (only 58 percent) and I think he's a mediocre QB at best.I think the three bye weeks could be huge. KSU out of gate is concerning due to our traditional slow starts, but hopefully we will come out firing.
Yeah, I think this will be a defining year for Avery. He either has it or not. He's faster than Rocco, but I would rather have Rocco. I think he has better vision and a better arm, and is more of a gamer. I could be very wrong and Avery breaks out, but...I still haven't bought into Avery Johnson as the answer for K-State at QB. Unless Tennessee thinks Johnson is their man and throws million$ his way. Seems like the Arizona St. kid would be higher on their target list though.…….We will get a very early indicator of Avery J. and K-State, along with Iowa State and Rocco, on Aug. 23, in Ireland. It won't be a complete indicator of either player, but it should be interesting.
Watching him a few times last year, seems to have a low football IQ.I still haven't bought into Avery Johnson as the answer for K-State at QB. It will be a spectacle. The team that contributed to some of this uncontrolled NIL bidding has had their OB betray them now. Too bad. So they will likely shop for a substitute QB, causing further anger to teams like them, and the SEC, who have this kind of money.Unless Tennessee thinks Johnson is their man and throws million$ his way. Seems like the Arizona St. kid would be higher on their target list though.
