Are we sharing our personal brackets here or should we take it in stride as the voting begins?

Tried binge watching it during COVID and people that loved it kept telling me it gets better the longer you watch it. I think we quit somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd season possibly as it never got better and was just so dumb IMO. One of those shows that was oversold to me by people that thought it was great then turned out to be a big disappointment when I gave it a try.
I would certainly categorize it as "dumb" humor. Not for everyone. I do like the story though, and the character development over time.

Community vs Curb is a really tough draw. Feel like Community would beat any of the other 4 seeds pretty easily. Great show if you haven't seen it.

Surprised The Good Place didn't sneak in. I probably wouldn't consider Orange is the New Black or The Wonder Years to be traditional sitcoms.

Some lesser known shows that would probably be dominating the NIT sitcom tourney, Better Off Ted, My Name is Earl, and Raising Hope.

Some of the more interesting first round matchups IMO...

New York: 6 The Wonder Years v. 11 The King of Queens

Korea: 5 Married... With Children v. 12 Scrubs

Boston: 8 The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air v. 9 Schitt's Creek

Boston: 5 Laverne & Shirley v. 12 The Cosby Show

Scranton: 8 WKRP in Cincinnati v. 9 That '70s Show

Scranton: 7 Family Ties v. 10 Parks and Recreation

A tough first round match up in three's Company vs coach. I love both so much.

Park and Rec is a show I've heard great things about but haven't gotten into yet. It's on my to do list of shows to watch.

Idk, they were kind of the dollar store version of the Office IMO. An ok show with some really good to great characters. 10 seems appropriate.

Schitt's Creek gets a raw deal in the 8/9 matchup with Fresh Prince IMO. Against any of the other 8 seeds I'd pick Schitt's, but Idk if I can do that with their Fresh Prince matchup.
My hot take is that Parks and Rec is better than The Office (at least after its first 1.5 seasons). I think the character development on Parks and Rec is more complete and makes more sense, and I think they also did a better job with some creativity in the later seasons to keep it from getting stale.

Agree to disagree. The Office is the funnier show (and my favorite) but I do think Parks and Rec has more depth to it in terms of storylines and character arc

Schitt's Creek is an acquired taste for sure. I don't think I started liking it until the 3rd or 4th episode. The characters needed time to marinate a bit, but when I saw Chris Elliott was in it I knew I would like it.
This is what will make the results here so interesting, different takes on different shows, it's all personal preference and no wrong opinions. I love Schitt's Creek and seeing how those characters evolved, which to me is a big part of what a sitcom should be about, but I know plenty who gave it a shot and just flat didn't like it.

Seriously, the writing, delivery, and creativity of that show is beyond next level. It's a 6 seed at worst. Because it's "hidden" away on Hulu and swears a ton probably causes people not to know what it is or think it's not for them. It has UMBC written all over it, you don't know what it is or anything about it and then you watch it and you fall in love immediately.

The Hulu thing is a real thing. Until a few weeks ago I'd never heard of it.

And they're Canadian.

Will be interesting to see how voting goes, I assume there will be a few matchups of young vs old.

I wouldn't call myself an afficienado by any stretch, but there are a bunch of old ones included here that I've never watched:

WKRP (never even heard of)
Green Acres
Newhart/Bob Newhart
Family Ties
Kotter
Larry Sanders Show
MTM Show
Laverne & Shirley
Newsradio
Taxi

That's not to suggest any of these don't belong, but I won't be voting for any of them.

I've watched its entire run three times. I swear it gets funnier. The opening of Season 3 is comedy gold.
