As for being classy... I usually support classiness. Given a chance for positive cheering over negative cheering, I choose positive (case in point, insted of yelling "Sucks" after U-N-I, I tried to get an I-S-U chant going. Didn't quite work... but yeah)
That's what I was waiting for, the I-S-U chant. Just over-power them with something that supports our school/team. But I'm sure when I get to be an old fart with a young kid I'll be washing his mouth out with soap when they say that word so it's not completely irrational to think that there are better ways to shut up the other team's chants. We do have small kids at these games that have every right to enjoy that game too so the bull**** and the "don't know the words" chants are probably not very appreciated by parents I'm sure but the lighter side of things finds it funny too.
Again, I'm just as guilty as the next person for chanting those at one time or another too. My point is there are 2 sides to this debate and as harmless as it may seem to some of us there are also other people that probably don't see it the same way. Does that mean it will end or should end? Probably not but I love when we find more creative ways of voicing our support or displeasure. For instance the "no means no!" chant was a great and creative chant when Pierce was here compared to the "rapist" and "sex offender" which still weren't too bad but a little more harsh. A little kid is not going to wonder what no means no is but not sure you'd want them asking about or saying rapist.
