Our governor didn't even know what flattening the curve meant until like two days ago lol. She kept saying bend the curve for like 2 weeks.I don't think you understand what flattening the curve actually means.

Hopefully it's not an increase of people saying 'I haven't felt sick yet, what's the difference if I go out now?'
NiceWhen I'm talking percentage of positive tests, I mean total. We don't remove recovered people from the tally of cases, so this should be the same.
7304 negative tests + 549 positive tests = 7,853 total tests in Iowa.
549/7853 = .069 or 6.9% of all tests coming back positive.
That percentage has been consistent all week.
It's pretty well known there were a LOT of people faking symptoms/ histories in order to get tested early on. Hence all the "OMG they wouldn't test me!!!" FB stories you saw. Hopefully most of those have been weeded out. That's my assumption.
Hopefully that's a sign of less people looking to get tested in the first place, as opposed to them being rationed.
Obviously it's not going to change much because you're adding small numbers to large numbers. I guarantee that percentage went up from yesterday though. When I'm talking percentage of positive tests, I mean total. We don't remove recovered people from the tally of cases, so this should be the same.

My MIL went in the first of March to get tested due to feeling a little stuffy. It's pretty well known there were a LOT of people faking symptoms/ histories in order to get tested early on. Hence all the "OMG they wouldn't test me!!!" FB stories you saw. Hopefully most of those have been weeded out.
Yeah, that's a huge distinction that could cost lives. Our governor didn't even know what flattening the curve meant until like two days ago lol. She kept saying bend the curve for like 2 weeks.
If they weren't tested, how would that change these numbers at all? LolIt's pretty well known there were a LOT of people faking symptoms/ histories in order to get tested early on. Hence all the "OMG they wouldn't test me!!!" FB stories you saw. Hopefully most of those have been weeded out.
6.7 to 6.9 I think.Obviously it's not going to change much because you're adding small numbers to large numbers. I guarantee that percentage went up from yesterday though.

Do you think the curve has been flattened? On April 1?
It does if she thinks a dip in the numbers means we're on the right side of things lol.Yeah, that's a huge distinction that could cost lives.
How do you know none of them were?If they weren't tested, how would that change these numbers at all? Lol
Huh? How does her referring to "flattening the curve" as "bending the curve" lead to her interpreting the numbers any differently? It does if she thinks a dip in the numbers means we're on the right side of things lol.
Because I can assure you most doctors are able to tell who is faking and who is not faking. You can't fake a fever of 103, which is a requirement to get tested if you're under the age of 60 lol.How do you know none of them were?
Just stop lying. My BIL is one of the positives today. Never had a fever.Because I can assure you most doctors are able to tell who is faking and who is not faking. You can't fake a fever of 103, which is a requirement to get tested if you're under the age of 60 lol.
Then they must've expanded the criteria. I know someone who went into get tested and they literally told him he didn't meet the criteria because he didn't have a fever of 103 and his fever was 102.Just stop lying. My BIL is one of the positives today. Never had a fever.
