Cornhole boards

Here are my first cornhole boards that I am building on my own. We have another set but we bought that one.

Next step is obviously PAINT! But what should I do? I have a few designs in mind that I kinda did a make up of.

I am personally leaning towards C, but I know it will take a lot more work to get them done. (My deadline is my graduation party on Sunday).

If there are any other design ideas, please tell me and I will consider it!

Or instead of having a white ring around the holes you could do a red one for the twister and a yellow one for the I state. Just throwing ideas about

Personally I'm a fan of option A (when I get around to building mine they'll resemble that design), but hey, they're your boards, and if option C is what you like, more power to you. It's not like that design sucks, either...

I actually just did that in my mockup and I really like it. If I go with option C I am definitely going to do that.

Bean bag toss? You fill the bags with feed corn, hence the name cornhole. I know all my family out in Iowa calls it bean bag toss but everyone over here in Ohio calls it cornhole.

I don't really have a strong opinion on the design itself, but having finished a set of boards at the start of last FB season, I can tell you that to do it right, it's a LOT of work and quite time-consuming. The actual time spent doing stuff isn't bad but you're constantly waiting for something to dry or paint another coat so it takes time.

First off, I assume these logos are decals, right? Because if you intend to hand paint those I'd be stunned if you finish these by Sunday.

Second, are you putting a coat of sealant on there? You should do so. It will protect your paint and put a finish that will create a nice playing surface. I recommend this stuff. The "experts" I researched said anywhere from 7-10 coats with some very light sanding every 3 coats or so.

Here is a great resource for painting and finishing. Having done this all myself not long ago I'd be happy to offer any advice.

I really like the look of Option B. Very nice.

Of course, being a Hawk fan, that may sway you against Option B, so I'm going to say I really like Options A & C. B sucks! :smile:

C, but for the vintage logo I would go with the Fighting Cy

I like B. I have had mine painted like that for 10 years. I changed to the I state logo a few years back

That’s why you simply call it “bags”.

BTW, I voted A. As mentioned by someone else, I don’t need any reminders of the Walden/Criner years as I’m tailgating and playing “bags”.
