Am I wrong in thinking that's better than blowing out your knees? Long term I mean.

I don't know much about Paul George's break so it might be a little different but I broke my tibia and fibula. Took awhile to get it healed up, but after getting strength back the long term effects were pretty mild. My ankle took awhile to get all of it's flexibility back and that was about it.

Right and you probably did not have the benefit of being a high level athlete with a trainer to get you through it on a daily basis. I expect this kid to fully recover. Hopefully his basketball game get's back to where it was which I assume it will.

Yeah. When Paul George was coming back from his broken leg the big thing for him was the mental aspect of it. Once he trusted the leg he was back to his All-NBA form.

Great upside signing for Prohm.

From Randy Peterson's Article:

“Throughout my injury, Iowa State stuck by my side,” Leech said. “That was a big key for me. We had a great relationship, even when others were starting to back away.”

He chose Iowa State over reported offers from such schools as Kansas, Miami of Florida, Texas Tech, Missouri, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, among others.

His injury forced him to miss his junior high school season. His first competitive game was in AAU competition last weekend in St. Louis.

“Played one game and it felt good to be back out there,” he said. “I had about 25 points, five rebounds and six assists. It was a good game for my confidence.”

Most of his clips are from 1-2 years ago. If there's no drop off from his injury and he keeps developing (like any recruit his age), this will be a huge pickup.

Someone has to have some sort of video from this game.

If I remember right, he had a previous break or maybe stress fracture that kept him out before the break in his leg.

I'm just fascinated by the "dropping off defenders with slick dribble moves" comment.
Yeah, there is a video on 247, from 2016 I think, that shows his dribbling moves and he was making guys get moving hard one way with a move he could've done in a phone booth. Pretty impressive ballhandling for a SF. I hate the automatically comparing new recruits to former ISU guys, but I do see a lot of Will Clyburns' game in Mercedus.

When he last played AAU, he was playing in a higher age group and still dominating. Founds this from after his freshman year.

According to MaxPreps.com, Leech, as a freshman, averaged 21.7 points 4.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.6 steals per game.

In 26 games, Leech shot 195-of-385 (51%) from the field, 84-of-197 (43%) from behind the arc and 90-of-111 (81%) from the free-throw line.

Furthermore, he snagged 76 defensive rebounds, 42 offensive rebounds, was credited with 67 steals, 67 assists, 20 blocks and 73 turnovers.
