Thinking kickoff temperature is around 20° on Saturday night. Got me thinking about the coldest games at Jack Trice (and Clyde Williams) That'd be up in the Top 5 if the forecast holds! List below.

Here's the list that Iowa State has for home games. I'm going to double check data going back further in time just to see if there's another that sneaks in. (I was doing this for Iowa and found their coldest to be way back in the 1890s)

8° - Kansas - 2013 (Night where my thumbnail picture comes from)
17° - Colorado - 1991
20° - Missouri - 1979
20° - San Jose St. - 1959
21° - Kansas State - 1995
22° - Texas Tech - 2022
22° - Oklahoma State - 1985
25° - Kansas State - 1993
26° - Nebraska - 1976
28° - Kansas - 2000
28° - Kansas State - 2003
30° - TCU - 2021
31° - Kansas State - 1984

How many were you at? Are there some not on there that surprise you?

I was at
'91 Colorado
'85 OSU
'84 KSU

Frankly the OSU game seemed a hell of lot colder. Could of been the fact that I was fully of anti-freeze at the Colorado game as well?

Was at the KU game in 2013, walked up to about a foot and a half tall snow drift from the ground to my seat.

TTU game two years ago was also brutal given there wasn't much to cheer about. Luckily I had the seat backs, or I would've been chiselling about an inch of frozen ice/snow off the bleacher.

Was also at KSU in 2003, but don't remember much from that given I was 7.

Only been alive for 4 on the list and wasn’t old enough to remember 2 of the 4. Was at Kansas in 2013. Remember wearing ski goggles and one of our family friends brought in an entire bag of popcorn under his coat.

It says attendance was 54,000 in 2013 at 8 degrees. That is great. I will be really happy if we can get 55,000 Saturday night.

I've been to every home game since 2004. 2013 KU was by far the coldest. 8° doesn't even do it justice. With wind chills it was easily -1° at kickoff and -11° by the time is was over (I left late 3rd quarter as it was a blowout ISU win)

This Saturday will be toasty by comparison. Show up and layer up people (all the body heat really does help). Having the south endzone bowled it helps a lot vs wind now too.

The 2013 KU game we snuck some Coors Lights in and never seen the mountains on the cans as blue as they were that day. We actually had to keep the beers inside our coats as if we let them sit out too lo g they were freezing and becoming beer slushies.

What was the temp vs KSU in 2019? I can't believe that's not on there. The valves on our marching band instruments were frozen solid
