What the hell is the point of bumping this thread? Yup we are a Power 5 team paying its coach 2.3 mill per going to finish at the bottom of the league. At least we aren't Nebraska, paying a disingenuous liar 3.5 mill per for the same result

Actually, since Fred is not having success in Nebraska it may be easy for them to part ways. I'd propose we trade coaches with Nebby. Prohm is better than most of the coaches they have had since I can remember and I think Fred would at least duplicate the success he had here last time if not better.

No actual proof of that. It appeared his entire tenure at ISU was to burnish the resume enough to make him a viable NBA coaching candidate. He was very, very hungry. Now? Whole family set for life, no chance at another NBA coaching job, and everyone is copying his transfer market success.

There's also no proof of your claim either

I think Fred is a limited coach who had a great strategy on transfers before everyone started doing it. That is showing at Nebraska.

Fred doesn’t want to be here.
Sadly some will never come to terms with that fact.

I wouldn’t say that, I think it’s harder to recruit basketball players to Nebraska than it is Iowa State, and yes more teams are picking up transfers now. But it was also a year where most players were granted immediate eligibility so didn’t have the benefit of sitting out and learning the system. I think he will still turn Nebraska around, but it will take a little longer. It took him a few years for him to get Iowa State where we remember it under him.
