Come on 13 and Hassel, grow a set! You don't apologize for reporting facts.

I watched it. It was all true. And I took it the way it was meant to be taken. Chris, we knew you weren't making fun of us. Unfortunately, it is an easy list to put together.

You did not need to apologize.

Parody, in any form, is always touchy.

Unfortunately I have been out of the state the last couple of days and didn't see this, but I would guess you two, and obviously many CF posters, have a pretty good sense of humor and didn't see a thing wrong with it.

Others, who don't have a sense of humor and take themselves to seriously, obviously thought it went too far.

Reminds me of an old 50s song: "Every party has a pooper that's why we invited you. Party Pooper. Party Pooper."

Still, if you think the uproar over this is ridiculous, wait until he makes fun of Iowa. Hang on to your hats, boys and girls.

I'm gonna go ahead and say you're wrong. Murph and Fales did the list yesterday on their radio show.

The 2002 loss to ISU was pretty much a unanimous #1. I'm actually interested to see the list.

At the same time... just two days ago, there were people on this board complaining that he said it... and now they're all complaining that he apologized for it... kind of hard to please us right now huh?

I was ok with it when he said it and am still. He didn't need to apologize

If anything, this should be a testament to our fanhood. We remain steadfast despite the tough situations we've been through. How hard is it to be a Florida fan, for instance?

The only thing Hassell should have apologized for is showing 10 clips of memories that I Have been trying to erase from my mind.

If people can't take a joke then they are idiots.

Okay, I'll subject myself to everyone's criticism and say that he needed to apologize.

When I saw the original skit on Soundoff, I laughed. It hurt, but I laughed.

A skit like this is okay on Soundoff because the whole premise of the show is making fun at passionate Cyclone and Hawkeye fans (although it's interesting they haven't had any humorous skits to make light of the 30+ Hawkeye football player arrests in the last 18 months).

A skit like this isn't so appropriate on the news. For one thing, it's not news - it's mocking a program and it's fans with a graphic kick to the nuts repreated over and over and over. For another thing, the folks who tune into the news don't find this as entertaining as the whackos (like me) who tune into Soundoff.

Call me a thin skinned prude if you like, but I thought they went over the line.

it's not mocking. That list was compiled with the help of ISU fans, and the compliments that ISU fans have gotten in the course of the compiling has been amazing. It was a testament, in Murph and Andy's words, of how tough and resilient and dedicated ISU fans are.

I hope someone higher up forced him to do that and he didn't do it because a few people here got upset. His story was spot-on.

It was hilarious. Do what you have to do to keep the stiff shirts happy, Chris, but keep the funnies coming for us fans.

I would agree that it is better for something like Soundoff then for the regular news. But either way there was no need for an apology. It is not like he said "And I'm Chris Hassel. Go **** yourself, central Iowa.

I'm surprised Hassel hasn't chimed in. Perhaps he has been instructed to say nothing more about it. It is crazy how PC everything has gotten. When did people become so hyper sensitive? You can't please everyone all of the time.

Sure seems like a backhanded compliment to me (i.e., you fans are so dedicated that you continue to root for horribly bad program).
