That Kansas article was fun to read.

I’m not sure why anyone is surprised that coaches read this crap. I find it hard to believe that any of us wouldn’t do the same.

That KU article was amusing, but rather disingenuous. Everyone around KU knows you don't mess with the golden goose (MBB), which makes building a respectable football program even more difficult. No doubt Long was awful at hiring, but artificially limiting themselves to coaches without buyouts while Adidas showers the basketball program with money, shows they are not really motivated to make football a winner.

I would liked to see the article touch on internal stipulations regarding FB vs MBB.

You guys would be surprised at how common this

Certainly not Campbell or this current staff as much as a previous coaching staff from what I understand. But absolutely fan sentiment from an Athletic Department perspective is kept tabs on.
I have also seen in the recent years the "cross pollination" of information across the variety of media. I read here, listen to PODS, listen to KXNO, follow a variety of people (fans, coaches, admins, YOU, CW, etc) on twitter, and it the info/themes tend to blend so without BEING on here, it'd be hard for staff/coaches to not know. And i know players see stuff on these platforms and talk about it.

Steve Prohm listened to the CF podcasts. I'm not joking.

I think it was Jared talking about that on a pod a few months ago, that it was playing in the background on Prohm's end when they were getting ready to do a press conference over zoom or something like that.

There are times when I think this clown did more to destroy the ISU AD than Fry or Brandstad did.

This would explain a lot. Holy schnike were some of those Rhoads defenses bad..

I would disagree. A lot of the Rhoads-era defenses were passable or even good.

It was the offense that was sniffing glue.

I remember one game where they didn't earn a first down until well into the second quarter and the whole crowd at Jack Trice erupted in the most backhanded and sarcastic manner.

Thing was, those bad offenses would eventually drag down the defense. They would wear down after too many snaps on the field with too little rest between series and offenses would pulverize them with runs to desiccate the clock because they had the lead and were looking to end the game.

So yeah, Wally is pretty far down my list of people to blame for the second half of the Rhoads era.

Yep, that's what I remember him saying too. Don't even know where to begin with that tbh
