I was pissed. Baltimore took him right before Dallas, and Dallas ended up taking a TE out of Wisc. I really think Dallas would have taken Charlie if he was still there.

Our TEs haven’t had good luck in offseason team camps. Dylan Soehner hurt his back in a team workout last summer that put him on IR last year and the lingering effects have done the same this year.

Yes they did but he is kind of more a "bigger WR" listed as a TE type.

Good news is that Bateman had this injury mid August last year for them and was back by week 5.

If Charlie’s recovery time is similar, could be ready before the end of September. They may stash him on the PUP list regardless though. That’ll knock him out 6 weeks

And the article said he had some of the same trouble at ISU, which also had surgery and was a bit "lingering". I did not know or remember this.

Think he will go on the injured list to start the regular season and then I think he would be eligible to return after either Week 4 or Week 6. At worst he will end up on the Practice Squad.
