I am looking for a local charity that does some kind of Iowa Beutification Projects, or Green Living/Recycling/Sustainable Living type stuff in centray Iowa. Something to Donate money too, and maybe even volunteer with.

Any suggestions?

I worked on a project for Habitat for Humanity a year or so ago. There is a central Iowa branch that is very popular (Building Homes, Transforming Neighborhoods, Changing Lives - Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity). They have a "reuse" store where people can buy refurbished materials for use in home construction, remodeling, etc. Its called the Re-Store for "reuse store".

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!
