#25 in Coaches Poll, #26 on Sagarin ELO-CHESS (USA TODAY) . . .

Chances we sneak in at #25 in initial BCS standings tonight?

Tech losing makes it not a lock, but the computers usually like us so I expect us to sneak in to one of the last few slots this week.

Hm, looking at the computer rankings available

Sagarin #26
Massey, not published yet for this week, had us in the top 15 after last week, so might be still top 25 there as well.
Wolfe: not published yet (at all)
Colley: not updated for this week, #26 last week
Billingsley: 21
Anderson & hester: not updated this week, had us 26 last week

So yes, with a win this week, and most of the ratings having us that close, its very possible

The BCS uses 6 computer rankings, taking out the highest and lowest then dividing by 100. That 26 is one of the 6 rankings. 4 of the 6 rankings are available and we are ranked: 21, 26, (and two that haven't updated we were 26 last week before our win). 26 is the worst because you don't get any points towards the BCS score but you're still up there. So let's assume a 21, 20, 21, 26 just for the sake of argument.

AP Poll - 54/2875 = 0.0188
Coaches Poll - 73/1475 = 0.0495
Computer Rankings - 5+6+5+0=16. 16/100 = .160

(0.0188+0.0495+0.160)/3= BCS SCORE OF .0761

Now some weeks that would've gotten us ranked, and others it wouldn't have. I had to make up the computer ranking formula too because they haven't released all of them yet...

Instead of AP poll we're waiting on the harris poll. That will tell us a lot more.

Granted the BCS rankings are "projected". but they have ISU at #24.

Even projections are likely to be accurate within a couple of slots.

Honestly didn't think ISU would get up to that level yet after TT loss -- but I guess since Tech is still fairly close to Top 25, and TCU was solidly inside top 20 ... makes numerical sense.
