Damn, Nardo got the first TD but Smith was able to throw him to his back late to go up 7-2.

Those 6 point throws are huge.

Smith starts down and gets and escape. Nardo gets a late TD to make it 4-8 going in to the third.

Nardo gets a TD in the third and ends up going down 7-9. That momentary slip cost him 6 points and that cost him the match. But still, 7-9 with multiple TDs on a guy ranked in the top 10 ain't bad.

CMU up 12-9 at the halfway point.

Some light scrambles early in the first but no scoring. Late in the period Weatherman gets a TD off a really bad shot from Atienza and then gets a quick tilt for 2 backpoints to be up 4-0 at the end of the first. Weatherman is down to start the 2nd.

Weatherman gets out and gets a TD but isn't able to hold the CMU guy down. Up 7-1 going in to the third. CMU starts down. I don't think RT is a factor yet but Weatherman should be close.

9-3 win for Weatherman. Would have liked to see him open up a bit more in the third to get the major.

Tied up 12-12 with four matches left.

I see CMU favored at 174 and the other three are toss ups with ISU being slight favorites.

Scoreless first period for Spoon against #7 Ottinger. Neither guy committed to much. Ottinger down to start the 2nd.

Two TDs for Spoon in the 2nd! He's got a bloody nose but is up 4-2 going in to the 3rd. RT not a factor and Spoon chooses down.

Spoon got hit for stalling late pushing Ottinger out to avoid giving up an escape. That was a good call by the ref and I wish it would always be called, guys do that a lot.

Another TD for Sppon and he gets RT to win it 8-3 over Ottinger! Ottinger is top 10 in every poll so that's a big win for Spoon. That also gives ISU some breathing room.

ISU up 15-12 with three matches left.

Ellingwood out quick and then lots of bullfighting but Pestano gets a TD late off a striaght ahead single to be up 2-1 going in to the 3rd. Pestano down to start the 3rd. RT not a factor.

Pestano wins it 5-2 after an escape and TD in the third. Ellingwood was just below him in the coaches panel so this was a key match for him to be an NCAA qualifier.

ISU up 18-12 with two matches left.

Harrington gives up a TD right away but gets out and gets one of his own. Tied up 3-3 after the first period. Harrington down to start the 2nd.

Lots of handfighting but late in the period Harrington hit a slick ankle pick and also got a questionable set of backpoints to be up 8-3.

I say questionable because Lewis just didn't bail quickly enough and probably didn't even realize that the ref was counting. He could have just rolled over sooner. if he'd realized it.

Harrington fades in the third, he's out of shape. He barely holds on for an 11-10 win. That salts away the meet for the Cyclones.

ISU up 21-12.
