Yeah, that is a bit odd. I can't understand why if you are crediting a team with beating a ranked team, why you would drop them that far. If the win is that good to move someone up, it means the team they beat must have been good, otherwise neither team deserves the ranking.

I have a feeling ISU will be at 22 or lower in the AP poll on Monday. I just hope we are still ranked.

Testifying
I've watched a lot of Villanova and they look better than half that top 10.

Neither Monday's or yesterday's games looked like that of a top 25 team.

I predict a 13th to not rated come the next poll. Typical stuff. Wouldn't be surprised if iowa got more votes than us. Normal ********.

We've kind of earned it.

The exhibition was against a high school team
Oakland played us tough
Georgia State was a magnificent second half of basketball, but even they're looking shaky since then
Alabama gave us all we could handle
Maryland had the best shooting night of their year and we had our worst but, yeah, they beat us

That's not the CV of a Top 25 team. Come back, crush some cupcakes, and take care of business versus Arkansas and Iowa and we can talk about it.

Not that I'm saying this team sucks--far from it. It just doesn't appear the hot start from last year is going to repeat (and that was a freak event with all those close wins anyways). Going to take some time to gel. A little adversity to put some fire into them now before the Hell that will be the conference season isn't the worst thing in the world. We'll need it. Fred will have them rolling come March--he always does.

This is normal unless you are a blue blood. A blue blood loses and the assumption is that the team that beat them is really good. The blue blood drops a couple spots and the winner vaults ahead of them. Anyone else loses and they must have been rated to high. They plummet and the winner moves up a couple spots.

Just the way the polls work. If we get our act together we will be back in the top 25 eventually.

Why would watching the game last night change his mind? We looked terrible in all phases of the game. I don't think we looked good Monday night either but were bailed out by 58% shooting.

The thing about last night is that, offensively, it was a complete aberration. We're unlikely to shoot under 30% again this year. So from that standpoint, we shouldn't fall too far because odds are, we won't play that poorly again.

Beat Arkansas in a few days, and they are back in.

Its November, nobody cares about polls in November.

Also did you read the Kansas recap, he was talking about Texas. Me thinks he does not pay much attention to this thing. Somebody else just does it for him.

I do know that Maryland plays Virginia in about a week at home. Go Terps.

North Carolina getting drilled by butler, drilled. North Carolina has 45 pts with 8 min to go. And everyone thought isu scoring 66? Whatever it was, was bad.

Iowa st isn't going to drop out of the top 25 4 games into the season with one loss on a neutral court to a decent big 10 team. Let's get real.

We shot 29% and were within 2 scores with a couple minutes left. We couldn't have played worse and still had a chance to beat what looked like a talented Maryland team to me. That is why I think it was ridiculous to drop us out of his poll.

I thought it was a little much as well, but you have to realize he updates this every morning and it is a very, very fluid poll.
