Can we drop Pinstripe and add Liberty bowl?

Seriously, outside of the 4 hours yesterday where our team played poorly, Memphis was a great time. I don't think too many fan experiences for me will rival being with that many Cyclone fans in as fun of a place as Memphis turned out to be (Beale St was just raging with Cyclone fans from Friday-Monday). I think i'm yet to hear a single person who went to NYC last year say that they had a better time there then they did in TN. Liberty is central to bigXII footprint, relatively inexpensive, a super fun place to get hammered in, great food, and a decent football facility (much better than a baseball stadium). lets get this done Bowlsby

Needless to say, I think we have a standing invite to the liberty bowl after we brought 25k+ to Memphis.

Yes please. I didn't even go to Memphis, but I would much rather have this in the 6-8 bowl tier for the Big 12 than NYC.

I didn't go but Memphis seems like a more logical bowl destination for the Big 12 than NYC. And I have heard no complaints from anyone who attended.

The nice part about a Memphis vs a NYC is that there is only one place to congregate. Beale St is THE place in Memphis to mill about a get your swerve on. And we covered that place up! (oh, and Graceland too)! NYC doesn't offer a place to be with 25,000 of your closest friends. I'd definitely take Memohis over Shreveport EVERYDAY, but more warm-weather locations would be good too.

That was my first bowl game, and that set a high bar. Awesome trip

same for me. and I could not be more impressed with our fan base after seeing the turnout.

every local person we spoke to commented "dang, ya'll travel in droves"

Agree. I had the same thought while there, although the weather isn't the best, the environment can not be beat. It is especially cool having all of your fans able to be in a central location vs spread across a major city.

Other than the game results, i dont think there was anything to complain about, except maybe that some of places werent ready staff-wise for the crowd we brought. Great easy location for just every big 12 team to make it to (<12 hours for everyone), historic bowl, great entertainment and food options on beale. A bowl that nearly everyone seems to say 'id do that again'

Where they love the governor
I'd vote for it. I went to the Pinstripe Bowl, had to skip this bowl trip. I've been to Memphis before and I think it's a better destination. We played in a stadium designed for football, for one thing. Add in the fact that it's in Big 12 country and I'm game for making the switch.

I would love for the Liberty to be a regular part of the rotation. Historic bowl in driving distance is a winner for me.

I had the exact same thought as we headed back to Iowa from Memphis.

Great for recruiting?

Sometimes I think some people don't think before they post. Did playing in the Independence Bowl help our recruiting? Did playing in the Houston Bowl help our recruiting? Did playing in the Insight.com bowl help our recruiting?

But somehow a bowl in Florida will help our recruiting?

"Uh, yeah kid. If we qualify for a bowl game we might be able to play a game in Florida while you're in Ames."

If playing close to home is a necessity to the kid, we don't have a shot in hell of getting them anyways.
