So where do the Vikes turn to now for RB? I would welcome a Demarco Murray with cash for AP trade. If that's not the case I'd like to grab Gordon from Wisconsin.

Shouldnt your headline be "Bye bye Vikings"? As it is Petersons side that said they will not play for the Vikings again as opposed to the Vikings telling him they dont want him back (which doesnt appear to be the case.)

Where do you think a landing spot for AP would be?

Indianapolis looks the best to me. Lot's of cap space, they value RBs that can carry the full load, they're willing to trade for a RB, and they are a playoff team who wants to improve and is ready to compete right now.

Dolphins send Mike Wallace and Lamar Miller for AP.

Good for two reasons

1. Helps the Dolphins fill their hole at RB

2. Mike Wallace won't get to the postseason anytime soon

Add a draft pick in there and I'd take it. If AP is gone the Vikings need to go after Gordon.

If I were the Vikings and couldn't trade him, I'd simply let him sit himself so he doesn't get paid. But I bet he'd change his child beaten tone once he knows the money wouldn't be coming his way.

1. Not going to happen. Vikings would trade for picks in this draft, not players.

2. The Vikings should not touch RB until G, MLB, OLB, CB2, and FS are all addressed even if AD is gone. All of those positions can be filled with earlier round picks. RB can be added later and they already have McKinnon who is very capable.

KcKinnon is not a full time back IMO.

That's what I would do as well. Minnesota has all the leverage. He won't make close to the money that Minnesota is paying him right now if cut.

There's no way for Minnesota to get equal value.

The best thing for Minnesota is to convince him to restructure to a reasonable but still tops in the NFL contract with a lower cap number and a higher amount of guaranteed money. I think he's got PLENTY of gas left in the tank.

If he's totally opposed to the Vikings, Speilman can get a 2nd and a 4th or something like that for him. In a perfect world a late 1st.

Peterson has been dead to me since he called Jerry Jones last year and said he wanted to play for Dallas. He has no business whining that the Vikings didn't stand by him when he had already made it clear prior to the whole child abuse scandal that he wanted out.
I say trade him to Jacksonville or Oakland.

AP and his agent must be quite a pair. To do what he did to a little kid, have the organization stand by him to the hilt--and take the PR hit for it, and then, once reinstated demand to be traded or released? As a Bears fan, I have no investment in the Vikings roster, but that's taking dbag to a new level.

He should consider himself lucky to be playing football at all instead of making demands of his employers.

RB is such a fungible commodity, however. I would think, maybe, Indianapolis learned its lesson after the Richardson fiasco when you can get 90% of an all-pro running back for 5% the price as a free agent pickup? Yes, AP is good, but their problem isn't scoring or moving the ball--their issue is on the defensive side, particularly the front seven.

I'd much rather have Suh as them for the same dollars. Much larger position of need where you can't just synthesize production and talent out of basically nothing like you can at RB.

Weird....Adrian ****s over the vikes being a child abuser and acts like he's got an axe to grind.

If I'm the Vikes, I focus on building around Teddy. I'll take a young up and coming RB rather than a 31 year old (to be fair best RB of the last 6-7 years) RB.

Hopefully Jerry bites and the Vikes get a nice draft pick from Dallas. Frees up a lot of cap space, hopefully can pick up another high defensive pick, builds for the future, and gets rid of a building headcase.
