Turnovers are up in conference play .2 per game. Blocks are down .4 per game. Steals are down .5 per game. Yes they are down but not astronomically and that can be attributed to playing 5 minutes more a game.
His win share and player efficiency rating are both 3rd behind only Monte and Georges, who are obviously our 2 best players.
Basically, what I am trying to say, is that he is the same player we had last year, peoples expectations just changed unfortunately and they became almost unrealistic and it seems like he has bought into his own hype. He just really needs to realize what he is on the court, a shot blocking, rebounding, athletic freak, who will get his points on ally-oops or put back dunks.
Also, I said overall his numbers are UP. You either read what I wrote incorrectly or are selectively taking what I said and skewing it out of context.
Not the case at all, you said his numbers overall were up due to a weak non con, I pointed out that he's turned the ball over more this season, a season in which he's played much weaker competition than last year since he only played against big 12 teams. It would stand to reason that if he has turned the ball over more against inferior competition so far this season, that when the schedule continues to be tougher, he'll turn the ball over more.
The bottom line is, regardless of his stats, he's not the same player. He's had to work much harder on the glass this year and has had to the handle ball more as well. Those things are going to take away from some of his other numbers obviously. Maybe its mental, maybe its his knee, maybe its fatigue from playing his first full season in 3 years, maybe its coaching, maybe its being asked to play a much different role or maybe he's let his success get to his head. Who knows.
