Burn ban just announced in Story County

I’ve seen a cornfield fire with these conditions on a day with 30mph winds. Really an impressive sight.
Today is much like a Saturday a few years back. We were playing Texas Tech that day, pretty sure it was on the road. Neighbor about a block upwind lit their grill and somehow caught their siding on fire, then up through the soffit and into the attic. The sudden overwhelming smell of melting vinyl siding is not pleasant.
Dudes, no need to spark up there are flameless options.
I’ve not seen one in progress. But when I worked for a farm newspaper and was traveling in rural areas, I would try to keep track of which county I was in and what was the “street” that I’d most recently passed. Lucky I never needed to call 911 from my bag phone.
Was outside and noticed my neighbor to the NW of us, had started a fire here in North Ames. Gal was ready to throw this broken down dishwasher box onto the fire. I told her that there was a open burn ban on in Story County. She had no idea there was and thanked be for letting her know. I just told her I wanted to let you know before someone else called the cops on her. Plus you can't open burn in trash in your back yard anyway.
Were there fireworks and drone show following the football game? They were scheduled but questionable due to the forecasted weather and burn ban.
There were fireworks before the game with the team entrance. The drone show was supposed to be at halftime but was cancelled due to high winds.
